Just a thought Verity I find it hard sometimes on a long list of threads to get to the most recent can take time. If its old and things have been added later then you sometimes have to read things again! Is it feasible, possible or is this suggestion toataly inappropiate for the most recent to come up first rather than the first post and may be I can do it myself and I am just thick or lazy!! Any way Thanks for this place!

Hi Anne Marie
I am sorry but it is confusing because some sections have a few threads that we call 'sticky' threads at the top of them !
This is the way Pro Boards work and we usually put information at the top of each section and set it so it does not move down.
So there are threads are always at the top of some sections because they contain information you may want to read first about how to use the web site and forum.
ie about how to use the chat room or 'calendar' or 'log in problems' 'forum usage ground rules' etc
These threads are called 'sticky' because we have set them to stay at the top of the section they are on whatever else is posted.
These 'sticky' threads of can be identified from the others by the icon next to them which has a 'thumb tack' or drawing pin' stuck into a folder icon.
If you have read these topic there is no reason to read them again unless the information under the 'last post' column says that something has been posted since you last read it.
Other than these 'sticky' topics - all threads in each section are displayed in order of the newest in the order that they have been added to!
So the trick is to skip all the 'sticky ' threads you have read and jump straight to the threads underneath these that have been recently updated.
( they are the ones with normal 'folder icons' or if they have many answers they will have an icon of a folder with flames on them)
I am sorry if this was not very clear to you - and it does take a bit of getting used to - but once you know it is quite easy to 'skip' the information threads you have already read and look below these for the latest threads to be added too.
I hope this makes sense - but if not send me an e-mail and I will try to explain.
and all the best
Veritee
