Hi all
I am just experiencing so many symptoms at the moment and wondered if anyone else had these and any tips on dealing with them they are:-
Aching (back, neck shoulders, legs) Tingling in hands limbs feel weak eye sight not right feeling off balance rapid breathing twitching in hands and fingers
I have plucked up courage to go to the Chiropractor at lunchtime as this has helped in the past.
Last night I had a really strange thing every time I dropped off to sleep I kept waking up with a jerk and being really distressed, like I could not get into a deep sleep, does anyone else have this?

Hi JDM,
I'm sorry that you have so many symptoms all at once and I can totally relate. I still have the aching in my back, across my shoulders, arms and sometimes in my chest. It is probably from lifting your baby, and all the other things us busy Mum's do!
I get all the others too, though not as much as I used to, and I get others too. I know how distressing this can be, especially if oart of your illness is believing that you have something wrong with you
Don't worry, these are perfectly usual with PNI and, in time, they do get better.
hth, Sare

Hi SFB
It is really good to hear from you again. I am slightly better but these symptoms really do intensify around the time my period is due. My period came last Tursday and I get them really bad which makes me worry about having a terrible illness like a stroke or cancer which in turn makes me breathless and then I think I have a collapsed lung or heart attack or something, it really is a vicisous circle. Anyway I have added another one to my list which is really really bad acid and indegestion, the doc said it was caused by anxiety but it is very distressing also as it makes me worry that it is something sinister.
When I type it out is sounds crazy, but in my head it is so real if you know what I mean.

JDM
I totally sympathise with what you are saying. When you analyse it it sounds mad, but none the less you are suffering with it and can't make it better. This is how I feel every day about my physical symptoms.
I do not have the fear of dying, but the fear that I will feel sick and ultimately be sick. It really is taking over my life. Like you say, when you type it, it sounds crazy, but it is very real.

Hiya, Thanks JDM. Sorry to hear you are still suffering physical symptoms. I think your concentrating on them intensifies them. You know - 1 month ago I was driving along thinking to myself "WOW! Can I believe that I actually used to think that I had a brain tumour?!" And was amazed that I could even entertain the idea (although I still had a certain fragility to my mental state i was so much better). Now, since feeling off-balance with twitchy eyelids and tinnitus getting a little louder, oh and the odd headache - I was back to thinking last week that I have a tumour again. I am trying really hard to ignore these thoughts and put them to the back of my mind, but it is hard, especially when you are feeling off balance 50% of the time for the last week. winegirl - have you got a sickness phobia? Hang in there

Hi Sixfootblonde
Yeah - always had a bit of a thing about being sick, but since having PNI and sufferin g all these symptoms I have gone mad with it to the point it prevents me going anywhere (although I do just about manage to work full time).
I know it will get better and will take some work. Really interested in this EFT that JDM has talked about so she has messaged me details and gonna have a look at that.
How have you been today, any better?

Hiya, Me too! My PNI with my second child was all to do with not being sick. In fact, I remember not eating for 2 days cos I was convinced I would be sick if I did. I have had a sickness phobia most of my life. I think you are amazing for managing to carry out a full time job! Will have to look into this EFT thing too - thanks

JDM can I ask if the balance thing was pretty constant? Or anyone that has had a balance issue - was it constant? I feel like I am acutely aware of my balance most of the time and I am sure this makes me worse. Also been having intermittent mild headaches most days when I do not usually suffer from headaches

Hi SFB
Yes when I was really bad the balance thing was there all the time, I was so aware of it at times that I would not dare leave the house, one really bad day when we were meant to be going out for the day over the xmas period I just stayed in bed all day because my balance was so off. My dh called the GP who diagnosed a virus, why is it always a bloody virus? Since then I have had reflexology which did seem to help and I also had hopi ear candles to clear my ears since my GP said they could be affecting my balance. I am better these days however when my period is due or something else stressful is going on in my life I do find it comes on.
Hope this helps.

hey, was reading about the sickness thing. this is the first time i have ever heard of anyone else havin a phobia of being sick! I have had it for years, petrified of being sick in puvlic. on occassions i have ran back o my car from town as i have thought i was goin to be sick. Of course i never have been but the fear of it is horrible. im a bit better with it now but for a long time it ruled my life.x Also, i keep goin to the docs about dizziness but its not like a spinning in my head its like u all say- off balance. Is this a normal symptom of pni? my gp jus keeps sayin its a virus x

Hi
Just wanted to give you some reassurance about the dizziness. It was one of the first symptoms I had and I still get it from time to time when I am having a bad patch. It feels like I am very off balance and my head is very fuggy (if you know what I mean). I think from the research I have done it is related to anxiety. Try cutting out coffee I find that helps and also burning some lavendar around the house can have a calming effect.
I do know how hard getting your head around all these symptoms can be as I constantly beleived the docs were missing something with me. But 4 years on I am still here to tell the tale!
Please keep visiting for support, if it helps I dont know of anyone on here who has turned out to have something more sinister than pni.
