thats the one vikkie oilatum i couldnt remember what it was called but yes it worked well on mine. Diet also helps,if you can afford to get organic food to make your self as i read in the healthy way mag i get that the sprays they put on foods add to the effects of eczema.

thanks vikki/wendy. I'll get some of that to try then. Her eczema is spreading so im going to have to do something to help her, she keeps scratching her head to pieces.
With regard to weaning - did anyones bub not like homecooked stuff?? I have tried izzy with carrotts and potato, banana and apple, banana and formula - she spits it out and screws her face up. Yet if I give her baby rice or organic hipp jars she will eat this. Have i made her addicted to ready made meals? she has only had jars for a little while but really turns her nose up at what i make.
Also, she is slightly off her food. It was a real chore to get her to have her brekkie this morning. She isnt unwell im just putting it down to be cranky with teething, Is this common?
Thanks
Lana

Lydia has a huge range of teething symptoms, off food, nappy rash, general rash, cold, earache, chestyness etc, there is nothing that doesn't happen during teething, I'm sure she will eat again soon, you just have to be patient, they let you know what they want.

Hey.
I went to see my health visitor yesterday to get izzy weighed etc... ( not my usual H.V a stand in ) but she was nice all the same. She has told me to start introducing lumps into isabelle's food. Now im a bit confused. How big should the lumps be and im scared to death of her choking. Any tips would be greatly recieved as i really dont know what im doing. Do the bubs understand that they cant just swallow without chewing a little bit?

I have a few books on weaning, but the one I felt was easiest to understand and follow was Lorraine Kelly's Baby and Toddler Eating Plan - here's a link to it at amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0753508699/qid=1118955646/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/202-0134827-0555839When I first introduced my little one to lumps, I firstly started by only whizzing the food for a little while in the food processor so they were more like little bits, rather than pureed. Also, I mashed stuff with a fork to get that slightly more lumpy consistency. I was confused as you are about lumps, it really isn't explained that well is it? Maybe just buy a jar of baby food to give you an idea of the consistency would help?
