"Treat yourself to some chocolate"
BUT I HAVE NO APPETITE!!!!
Also, "treat yourself"
BUT I HAVE NO SELF ESTEEM AND DON'T FEEL I DESERVE A TREAT!!!!!
"It's all in your mind"
YES THANKYOU, I KNOW THAT, BUT I'M NOT IN CONTROL OF MY MIND AT THE MOMENT!!!!!!
"Ah, but your baby's so cute"
YES HE IS, BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE HOW I FEEL IN FACT IT MAKES ME FEEL EVEN MORE GUILTY!!!!
"At least you've got a supportive partner"
YES, BUT I FEEL THAT I'M RUINING HIS LIFE SO THAT MAKES ME FEEL EVEN MORE GUILTY AND ANXIOUS!!!!!
Phew....sorry about that.

Have to agree with all of the above!!!
Also...
"You look well" (I FEEL DREADFUL)
"Being a mum is hard work - you'll get used to it" (THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM HERE!)
"Are you better yet?" (I WISH!)
"When are you going to have a brother/sister for Jake?" (HEY?!?!?)
It's hard isn;'t it? Mainly people only mean well when they say any of this but it can really affect someone who's in the pits of PNI!!

Like this thread!
Well - I keep getting told contradictions - it will get easier (in regards to looking after your lo) and it gets worse!!!!!!!!! I think it has got easier - not doing 3 nappies an hour any more (except if she's ill) and I'm not being used as a cow anymore with what felt like a baby hanging off feeding practically all the time now either so it has got easier!
Hate it when people tell you to just get on with stuff too and when they say isnt she sweet (meaning CHloe) - I bet she's no trouble at all!!!! Yeah right!!!!!!
Or if you do say she's hard work they respond with yes, but I'm sure she's worth it - there was a time when I wondered if she was. That sounds awlful doesnt it? But I think pni does make you wonder if having a baby was the right thing to do. It has been for me - I know that now but I went through a phase where I really wasnt sure.

i like this thread too, although the only thing i can think of that annoyed me was a neighbour asking if nathan was a 'good' baby to which i answered 'sometimes' and she replied you just have to get on with it don't you? (eeerrrr yeah but HOW?)

Really enjoyed this thread the best one I have had is:
"Is your Husband good with you"?
Yes and I am bloody good with him just cos he does not have pni does not mean he is perfect either!
Also a friend who now lives in America (who does not know I have got PNI) told me everyone in the US has PNI I have told them no one gets it in the UK we just get on with it (she has no children)

JDM - that is such a good one about hubby's! It's not easy for them I know but sometimes it's not easy for us to live with their faults either! Marion.
