I really wanted to write a long explaination of what has been going on but as always I've been far too busy and tired. At the moment Janey is supposed to be asleep but chances are Daddy is cuddling her still (her crib is not her favourite place right now) and I'm expressing for the first time today.
You may remember I posted on here quite a while back saying my cousins wife was pregnant. The baby was due in January. Well I took Janey to see my Aunt this week and she told me how they thought her waters had broke a few days ago but the hospital said she was fine. She had also been getting increasingly nervous about the pregnancy, partly due to what had happened to me. We found out yesterday that her waters had infact gone and the baby had wrapped the cord around his neck. She had him via emergancy c-section at Luton yesterday afternoon at 30 weeks gestation (same as Janey). Obviously it's brought back some terrible memories and emotions. My parents have told the family how well looked after I was in Luton to try and keep her calm but I feel so terrible for her and the poor little mite, I just want to go and get him out of that place and into a decent hospital. I said it was a silly thing to say to her because she is on my facebook and will have seen my rants about how I hated every second there.
Anyway. Janey is doing well, she is now allowed to come off her oxygen during the day for upto 10hrs at a time and it sounds as though it won't be long before she is off it properlly.

Hey Giz,
Wow i can't get over how strong Janey is already, it seems like she was only born yesterday!
As for your cousins wife, i wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest, she probably knows that people round about her are trying to make her feel better and she has probably seen all your FB rants! It must be hard for you - having to relive your emotions and feelings like that.
You are sounding positive and happy at the moment, long may it continue.xxx

Hey giz, having it happen so soon to a close relative must be really hard for you. Don't worry about your Facebook entries they all were ok and were totally appropriate. Janeys strength and success will be a great comfort to your cousin. Its brilliant to see how well she is growing up.

Hi
It's brill to see Janey at home at last. She looks likes she's positively thriving! How are you doing? You have been through hell and back but I hope you're keeping well.
I read about your cousin's baby - how difficult for all the family but I hope baby does well too. must bring back stressful memories for you.

I've been crying buckets reading my last few posts. It's strange that all of a sudden over the last few weeks what has happened has become a reality and not just some strange dream. Anyway the reason I'm here is to give a brief update for those of you who don't know me outside of the forum. Janey is 8 1/2 months old now, she has just hit the 11lb mark and is wearing newborn clothes. Everyone thinks she is tiny but to me she's huge. She is mentally her actual age and has one hell of a personality. Definatly a stubborn one and knows what she wants and how to get it. Today she did the sign for milk for the first time without copying and has been practising her raspberry blowing. Physically she is closer to her corrected age and is only rolling front to back but my god can she stand up for ages if held. I see I have only posted the one photo of her at 1 month old so I am going to try and post a few more. They should be 3 days old, just to show how small she really was 1lb 7oz for those who don't remember Another at 4lb 4oz when she first came home, in this pic she is sat next to a baby born doll that is actally bigger than her and finally a photo of her taken this week.

Giz
So lovely to hear from you, have been watching j growing up, words cannot describe how delighted I am by your news. I am nearly crying looking at these photos and remembering last summer when we both were in hospital. I was lying looking at o this evening he is huge and long and I thought we should put j and o next to each other and take a photo.

Giz
How fantastic to see the pics if her, what a little beauty you have there! She is amazing, you all must be so proud if her. It must be quite surreal reading back over you diary? I know I feel like that sometimes reading back over my own diary and I didn't have the rollercoaster emotions that you must've had with having a premature baby? But in a way I suppose it's nice to look back and see how far you (and Janey) have come. Am so chuffed to see those pics. Xxxx

Just wanted to document a very freaky moment of mine that happened recently. A friend has just given birth to a little girl only a few weeks early. She was 5lb something. Obviously I gathered up all the tiny baby clothes I had left (anything smaller was donated to the hospitals) only to be told they were a bit big lol. She brought her up the school the other day and I couldn't get over how tiny she was. I think the difference being that when Janey was that weight she was already 4 mths old so didn't have that screwed up new baby look about her. Everyone must have thought I was off my nut, commenting on how small she was. Janey on the other hand is now 10 mths, rolling over, sitting up in her pram and trying to crawl and stand. She eats everything in sight so long as it's not baby mushed and drinks her milk from a beaker. She has also finally cut her bottom 2 teeth. Not a baby anymore but Mummy's big girl (dispite having only just made it into 0-3 clothes).

Hi hope you dont mind my posting, just looking at the photos of Janey, she is beautiful. My cousin was born at 24 weeks and was 1 lb 8oz and had clothes made for her, or wore dolls clothes. So very very scarey you have been through something terrifying and amazing. A miracle baby. She sounds like she is doing really well now bless her. xxx
