So I've been a member of this site for nearly 9 years now, since my youngest was 5 weeks old! I've been a staff member for about 7 years, helping ladies like the wonderful ones who helped me :-D Yesterday I found out I'm expecting baby number 4!! I'm approximately 11 weeks so thought I'd start my own diary for this journey....... Today I'm feeling excited, nervous, apprehensive, happy. We haven't told the kids yet.....my eldest is 18 :-o and lives with his girlfriend, my daughter is 15 and our 'wee' one is 9 - I hope they'll all be happy with our news. I'm more nervous about telling my mother! Lol. I'm 37 I shouldn't feel this way.......

Congrats!! That's very exciting I think we're all programmed to care what our parents think - even if we logically know that it's ok to have different views to them. I'm sure your kids will be very excited. Have you thought of how you'll tell them? Look forward to hearig more of your story. Have u had pni with each child? Xx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you :-D well we bit the bullet and told my mum, and the kids and needn't have worried! They are all over the moon :-D in fact the whole family are, am so pleased :-D I only had pni with my youngest 2, not too bad with my middle one (my daughter) but pretty bad with my youngest son. I'm more aware now though so fingers crossed for this time. It's still not sunk in properly yet lol x

Yes there's so much excitement at the minute, I hardly slept last night (although never do on hubby's 1st night home as I have to adjust to his snoring again!) lol kept going over telling the kids and my mum, really chuffed that they are chuffed. Think my sister is struggling a bit with the news as her relationship is strained at the minute :-( Roll on weds for my first midwife appointment, my boss is popping into work today so gonna tell her...eeekkk! Not sure how she'll take it?! X

Had our first midwife appointment yesterday, wow the paperwork!! It was only a couple of sheets of paper 9 yrs ago lol. Got a few things to think about - our birthing options and although I've said no to being tested for the possibility of downs she asked if they picked something up would we want to know?! I'm kinda thinking it'd be better to be prepared if it were a possibility but then part of me thinks we'd deal with it if and when it happens?! Hmm alot to think about. She's hoping to arrange a scan asap seeing as I'm about 12 wks already. Looking forward to seeing our little one :-D x

I had exactly the same thoughts I would not have aborted a downs kid but finding out they were not was a real relief. The test also tests for.Edward syndrome and a few others which are much worse. You might feel different about them. Ultimately it's your choice. So excited to see the pictures

Yeah kinda thinking that although still don't want to be tested would like to be prepared if it were the case. It's our baby at the end of the day and we'd love it no matter what and we'll deal with anything should the case arise. Can't wait for the scan :-D x

Sooo it turns out from the scan we had yesterday that I'm only about 8/9 weeks! Was disappointed but have gotten over it now lol I've declined the downs screening and any blood tests that aren't genuinely necessary, this was met with a hint of disapproval :-P but I don't care! Lol. It's my body and my baby. This is my 4th child I know how my body works. I know what a healthy pregnancy is like. If I have any concerns I shall voice them but they aren't prodding and poking just to tick their boxes! I bet I'm on their records as unconventional or some other name! Haha Still feeling really good, can't quite believe how good considering my other 3 pregnancies were absolutely crap! Long may this continue :-D x

Today not felt so good :-( had a really early start 5am! Think it was this and the headache I had. Feel better now but got achy hips tonight, I've suffered spd in 2 of my previous pregnancies, hope this isn't the start! X

The achy feeling continues but I'm really trying to watch my posture and keep active. Been looking into hypnobirthing, anybody tried it? I'm hoping to have a home birth, possibly with a birthing pool (current debate over birthing pool v hot tub!) so thought hypnobirthing would work well alongside. I want this to be as stress free a pregnancy and birth as possible. I'm well aware that things don't always go to plan but I want to try my best :-D x
