I am SO pleased for you! Squeeeee!!!! I would recommend hypnobirthing, I found it really useful during parts of the birth. We had a water birth at home in a birthing pool for our second baby, water is such a fabulous pain reliever. Congrats again, your news has totally made my day :-D xx

Aww thank you both, you've cheered me up when I was feeling a bit down. I'm full of the cold and feeling pretty rubbish today, tired, achy, runny nose, headache.....Grrr
Yes jo my previous experiences have made me more determined to go with what I want rather than what I'm told! The hips are ok, I suppose time will tell how bad things will get but hopefully with the right posture and taking it easy it might be minimal?!
Ooh thanks qr good to know you've used this method too. Did you have cd's or a book or what? I've been looking at cd's on ebay! How early did u start using them? Tell me all about your experience, I'd love to know. With my middle baby (my daughter) I was quite determined I wanted minimal pain relief as I'd had such a bad 1st birth and I managed really well with her, only a few puffs of gas and air as I pushed and no tearing or anything, it was great. With my youngest son I had a domino delivery, I stayed at home as long as possible, which I preferred and managed really well, with my community midwife visiting every couple of hours to assess things, we then travelled to hospital with said midwife who was going to deliver him, however I hit a problem and this didn't happen but I was home within 12 hrs of his birth, that was a great experience too (apart from the minor complication) so am keen to have the same relaxed atmosphere in my own surroundings. I'm glad my news has cheered you up :-D xx

Here's a link to natal hypnobirthing, which is the cd I had. www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/natalhypnotherapyhomebirthpreparationcd.htmlTheres a relaxation meditation to do from early pregnancy and the hypnotherapy, which is from 30 weeks I think. It goes through the different stages of birth and how you're feeling. Without going into too much detail :-o I found it massively helpful during pushing stage (which lasted 15 mins and I attribute some of the effectiveness of my pushing to hypnobirthing!) Hope you find it useful xxxxx more to follow....

Also, lucky enough to not need any pain relief for hypno birth :-)

My sisters friend did the hypno birthing techniques and said it helped hugely. She used a cd. Lots of exciting things to think aboutx

Just about!!! It's really knocked me for 6! Today I felt loads better and was tempted to mow the grass, clean etc but forced myself to rest and drink plenty hot drinks! Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better still?! Back at work for next 3 days then off for 5 :-D xx

I had a home birth last time and will be doing my damndest to make sure I do again. We opted out of the water birth though. Partly because I didn't like the idea of not being able to get up and move around without towelling off first esp after the birth, and it limits positioning with the obvious head above water requirement! Also I said no because our drains are bad at the best of times and that's a lot of funky water that needs getting rid of. I once had someone tell me they did it, and it was great, but after she saw hubby helping to empty the pool, and although he would never say anything, every time he took his bucket back for more water he was retching... yuck! Its meant to be great for pain though!

Yes the water thing has crossed my mind too but the the thing that bothers me is if I'm not in the water will I ruin my bed/carpets etc. Probably a totally unrational thought but there all the same lol. How did you deal with your waters breaking? The mess of giving birth? Sorry for so many questions but it's great to pick the brain of someone who's actually done it! I've been feeling crap today, I'm finding that if I overdo things I really suffer the next day?! Yesterday I changed all my beds, washed, dried and ironed all the bedding, drove my mum about, walked around a few shops then came home to cook lasagne from scratch and cut the very long grass! Today I've felt knackered, sore and sick all day.....there seems to be a pattern emerging and I've been told off by both my mum and my hubby for overdoing things! Oops this is the part I hate! I hate having to rely in others as I have today :-( hope tomorrow is better x

Ah ok, might discuss this with my midwife at my next appointment. We have our next scan on Monday, feeling a bit apprehensive about it, which I suppose is normal?! Just hope all is ok. I joined the babycentre forum too so I could talk to other expectant mums but I've been shocked at how many have miscarried over the last couple of weeks! I know it's a common thing but it's playing on my mind a bit :-( x

Good luck with scan on Mon. Completely normal to feel anxious especially if you've heard some sad stories. The vast majority of pregnancies are fine though. You've had 3 healthy kids - it's looking goodx

Thank you Mon. Yeah I know, just over analysing as usual!! I've been feeling little fluttery feelings, usually when I go to bed and relax so feeling a bit of reassurance from this (unless it's wind, every night! Haha) xx
