Hi guys, Can anyone help me out there, I seem to be having the same trouble as the other girls did last year, I wonder if it has anything to do with the clocks going back? Although it says down at the bottom that chica is online, when I try to post anything it says welcome guest? Hope you are all okay out there. Chica

Hi Chica
I am so sorry that you can not get log in as a member and post
I had wondered why you had not posted much recently?
One of our moderators has had this recently and it seems to be related to high browser security settings. So my doing anything this end will not help at all!
If you are using FireFox I have been told that downloading and installing the latest FF update will fix it and if not you need to lower your security settings within FF.
If you are using Internet explorer then again you have to lower your security and privacy settings and override cookie handling to allow all cookies.
You could also try making this forum/site an 'allowed' safe site in either browser if you do not want to lower your security settings for all sites - this may work?
If you do not know how to do any of this, let me know what browser you are using and I will try to advise.
This is happening as while this forum is safe - i guarantee it - from people hacking for your personal information through the forum and anyway we do not ask fro any personal info beyond your email address so their is notign on the forum for a hacker to get hold of ...
but because the forum gets different information to run and display from different servers ( for instance all the forum customization images such as the header are actually held on my own personal server but the basic code and the post text is held on the ProBoards servers and others post their own images to display in posts which are held on their own servers).
And browser security settings do not like this 'cross server' arrangement and some updates have set browsers to block sites that run like this as default so to view this site you have to lower them - or if someone else manages the computer you use they might have increased the security settings?)
As long as you have a good independent firewall, anti virus and anti spy ware programs installed, lowering your security settings will not be a risk at all..
High browser security settings are only really needed if your computer is unprotected by these additional safeguards.
If you do not have them I can advise you on what to use?
I hope this helps - let me know

Its me veritee - I am testing Wine girls account Oh dear I have no idea what is happening as i can log in and I am using Winegirls account with no problems. Usually this sort of thing is security settings but with so many it must be something else. Hopefulare you at home or work as if at work they may have upped the security settings or installed a security update as everyone is right now as their is such fear of identity theft. what browser are you using , fireFox or IE? Chica You can not post in your dairy because only those logged in as members can post there Winegirl I hope you do not mind my using your membership to post? a browser is the program you use to view the Internet. -With AOL this is the package of software they provide you with -In windows unless you download another one this will be Internet explorer - With a mac this may be safari or you may use Firefox on all computers If lowering your security and privacy settings does not work all I can suggest until I find a reason is you change to a different browser than the one you are using right now! as this worked for one person with this problem So if you are using Firefox download and install Internet explorer to use our site . If you are using Internet explorer or safari download and use FireFox There is a link to download fire Fox on our shopping page here: www.pni.org.uk/shop.htmInternet Explorer can be found here: www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspxif you select the version for your operating system, windows, mac or Linux you can run almost any major browser When you install the new browser do not let it 'import settings' form anywhere i will now try to find out what could be going on VeriteeXX PS Winegirl when I have logged out - try logging in agian

Hi there, Still having problems, so I would like to try what you suggested earlier on. You could also try making this forum/site an 'allowed' safe site in either browser if you do not want to lower your security settings for all sites - this may work? But not sure what address to type would it be PNI.Org or Veritees Forum. Sorry to be a bother. Hope you are all ok Chica

Think I have just about tried everything now, still no joy. Feel like throwing the blooming computer out of the window. I am using internet explorer. I have tried changing the security setting but that still did not work. Even told the computer that it was a safe site, still no joy. Maybe I will have to stay as a guest for a while. Otherwise I am wondering what would happen if I tried to re-register as chica2 or something similar. Anyway enough for now I have to go and get the kids to bed, before they drive me completely balmy. Love and hugs Chica

I did have this problem - but was using Firefox and if I use Firefox now - its still the same I am seen as logged in but not logged! So frustrating - So i am using internet explorer. But that obviously is not the reason for you? I have had it before and it tends to right itself at some point - but mine was going on for two weeks and I can sympathies with the frustration. But have very few answers.!!!
Oh dear ! Wish i could be of some help. Except to say I have been there.
