Hiya hunni,
Ok, I might be going back to an old subject, but on the names thing, I had this with my ex (we never actually got to the wedding bit) when we were engaged. I didn't have my dad around when I was growing up and I felt my surname was the only think that linked me to him, so when it came to thinking about the wedding, I didn't want to lose that bit of my dad. I had the same thing when Thea was born, I didn't want her to have just his surname, so we went double barrelled with her surname and that was also the plan when we were going to get married.
Now, however, GJ n Thea have got Alan's surname. Although he never wants to get married, so I'll always be the odd one out! I have thought about changing it legally, but hey I don't mind been different!
Congrats on the job, well done to you. I know getting out of the house and doing something not related to nappies, bottles or CBeebies has really helped me, I hope it does the same for you.
I hope you have a good day hunni
Take care

As for the names thing
I am indeed married but Barry is Barry Hall and I am Veritee Reed Hall
We did not marry until I was in my 30s and I could not bear at that time to lose my name - felt like losing my independence somehow - I never really understood why just because we marry we have to take a mans name is why cant it be a choice whose name we take or not at all if we do not want too.
I am of course an aging feminist from the 70s - I am of Germaine Greer age and read all her books in the 70s - so its not surprising I feel like this.
Caja is Caja Reed Hall - but all through school they have called her Caja Hall - so I guess they are not feminists as they know me as I am a teacher and used to work at the youth center attached to her school, so they know this is Barrys surname and that I would not approve!!!
Anyway how are the Wedding plans going?
What did you decide about the MIL and the people she wants to invite - has this all been sorted out yet so that you are both happy??

When do you start ? Before or after the wedding?
ATB

Hey Girls, Yes i'm very excited about my new job! We get 50% off clothes YAY!! lol I have my induction this coming wednesday and the store opens here in early november. So i'm very excited. Yes...one week and one day till i become a wife. I can't wait! I'm so excited. It still hasn't hit me yet that's it happening. I don't think it will until i'm driving there lol Regarding the MIL, we both decided it would be easier and less stressful to not invite her and leave the contact with her until after the wedding. I mentally will not handle having her at the wedding, i know i wont enjoy myself as much knowing she's there, and brett doesn't want me to have a horrible wedding day. So thats our decision and we're both happy with that. Picked up our ring the other day...ooh...its so overwhelming! I cant wait. Peter and Brett are doing well! Peter's just so quick with his crawling, it's very challenging keeping up with him lol He's also pulling himself up against the lounge now, so it shouldn't be too long till he begins walking...VERY EXCITING Anyways, i apologise for being stupid before girls! Also, i'm sorry if i wont be on here as much next two weeks, as i will be flat out with the wedding. Then the honeymoon, so in the next two weeks i wont be on here much at all. So i'll say goodbye now, until i see you again in two weeks time! Hope this is ok Veritee. I will post a wedding photo on the blog for you all to see! Love you all and please take care! Love and Light, Natalie XXX MWAH XXX

I am so glad you enjoyed your Birthday and are looking forward to your wedding - it must be exciting?
Please don't worry about coming on the forum - only if you have time - you just concentrate on your job and getting married etc..
Let us know how it all goes though? You are going to have a busy few weeks.
I am glad you have come to a decision about MIL - as long as you both agree I am sure it will be alright - I did not have mine either as I told you before. If you really cant face her being there then its best not..
All the best for now - I have to go as it s about 1am in the morning and I have a full day tomorrow
Bye

Dear Nat
I do not know what time it is there - it is 23.20 here - but please have a great day .
And as far as the
'issues have come up with bretts family again'
Please do not let them get you down - as we say here
Don't let the buggers get you
But if after this is all over you want to talk about these issues - please don't hesitate to do so.
I am so hoping you enjoy your wedding and your honeymoon ......
but don't forget that we are here afterward if you need support. Even a great wedding can leave you with things you want to discuss with someone who was and is not involved
Anyway Have a Lovely day
Veritee

Here are some pics from our BEAUTIFUL wedding (Sorry they're soo big) We had the best wedding EVER! Everything went perfectly (excpet for Brett forgetting the rings!!)! We had to wait in our cars on the side of the road till the rings arrived then we went down, lol...quite funny looking back on it. It was the most sensational day! It just went too quickly for my liking! I was on cloud 9 the whole day...didn't get nervous at anytime. I wish i could do it all over again! If you girls want to see more pics, they're all on the blog The honeymoon was great aswell. It consisted of swimming (in our own private pool and the beach), shopping, eating, loving and relaxing Missed petey sooo much though, i cried when we got home lol. Anyway, take car everyone and i hope to chat to you all soon! Love Natalie xxx
