well this is yesterday afternoon and evening. stuart got home about 5pm i think. i was going to do stewing steak and sweetcorn for tea but never got round to it coz cj isnt settling til midnight at the earliest. stuart gets stressed out if cj stays awake and makes alot of noise so he puts it all on me to keep him quiet. we were tidying up late last night when cj woke up and started crying so i went in and lay on the bed with him on my belly as this normally calms him down. last night he kept crying so to "help", stuart storms in, tells him to shut up and go to sleep and snatches him off me. i dont like that coz it scares me. i know he'd never intentionally hurt cj but i get so upset coz stuart wont let me help him cope. is that a man thing? anyway, we end up having a row and he storms back to the computer in the front room, leaving me and cj in tears. i come out at 1am having settled cj and stuart acts like nothing happened. we went to bed at 3am

stuart went to work at 7am but woke me up at 7.30am to tell me that there was no work available for him so he was coming home. then his boss called him and said there was a local run he could do. i went back to bed and slept til 9.30am. cj woke up at the same time. he's just had breakfast and a drink so ill just settle him down coz hes crying then get on with the rest of the housework coz stuarts mums coming round in a bit. TTFN!

Hi In reply to your first post in your diary yes I am totally convinced it is a man thing! I have 2 children my son is 3 and my daughter will be 2 in April. My son can be nightmare, he was a difficult baby (very colicky) and has a mind of his own, he often reminds me of my grandad when he was in a bolshy mood. My husband can't seem to deal with him or either of them when they cry, and he is constantly shouting at them and threatening to smack. Then he wonders why they don't go to him when they are hurt and need a cuddle.
How old is cj?
Anyawy hope you are having a better day today.

well its 5pm and im feelin good at the mo. cj is asleep for about an hour so im just having some lunch and ive cooked tea in advance tonight. the visit from suarts mum went really well, she helped me with the flat and i got 2 more piles of washing done. im changing cj's routine tonight to see if he sleeps any better. i have some lavender incense sticks, some chillout music, ill try giving him a bath every night now instead of every other. i really hope stuart comes home in a good mood now...TTFN!!

its 7pm and stuart nearly home-yeay! cj's one hour nap worked, he had his tea and we are sat nicely watching E.T. i have all his bath and bedtime stuff organised so all i have to do is his bottle which i can do when stuart gets here. im really proud of myself today-forgot what that felt like.

the routine change worked, cj went to bed at 9pm and has so far stayed asleep. stuart sat with him while i got his bottle and bath ready. i lay on the bed to give him his bottle with a cuddly blanky and some lavender incense burning. ive just eaten dinner and all 3 of us are chilled out(well one of us is asleep lol). have decided if cj is not up by 9.30am to wake him for his bottle. ps only have 2 lots of washing and 1 lot of ironing left yay!

Hiya Cazfletcher,
Just wanted to say Hi and well done on settling your little one down and into a routine. Good for you. Stick with it flower cause a night time routine really does help.
I know what you mean about hubby not liking noise and shouting...its horrible isnt it? I'm constantly trying to quieten the kids, but they are kids after all and noise is normal for them!!
Anyway, good luck with the routine and hope you have a peaceful night...Love n hugs Cinders xxx
