Hey y'all Have had a wonderful time with family - mum better than expected. Tired but happy and Anya loves having her granny, grandpa, grandma & grandad to keep her occupied while Daddy is in Africa with work! 7 weeks well... another blip soon?

Hello Sweets
Glad the time with family is working out better than anticipated and happy 7 weeks!!!!
When does Si get back or is he back already. I feel like I've missed so much because the telephone line went down before the hols so I haven't had access for what seems like ages - still been hoping you've been doing OK.
Take care, hope to catch up soon xxx

Hey KL
Sorry we've missed each other - feels like ages since we've caught up! Hope your telephone line is back up and running now! Si got back from Niger a couple of weeks ago, so we're now back into the swing of normal working life for him and term-time busyness for me! I had a great 6 weeks going to a baby music group specifically for mums who've had PND - it was focussing on bonding time with your baby and doing rhymes and singing involving touch and contact with them. It was lovely to have special time with Anya just to play and sing. A great idea set up by my Health Visitor and a trainee music therapist - bless 'em! They're now running it again for another 6 women and then hoping to get some funding...
Time in Leeds was good, but after I posted my mum deteriorated again so that was very hard. I think her new medication has dampened the anxiety but left her feeling extremely depressed. It's such a long road recovering from these illnesses... She's finding it hard to hang on and trust that in time she will get better.
How's little man doing? Is he eating all sorts of different things now? Anya's entered a slightly fussy phase and defnitely won't eat the same thing if offered up for lunch and tea!! I'm getting really excited about her birthday tomorrow - so glad I'll be celebrating it feeling well. I'm going to do some tiny fairy cakes and sandwiches for the children and a cream tea for the adults at her party on Saturday! Better get my apron out and swan around like a domestic goddess eh?!
Hope you're still doing well - will go and have a look at your diary posts now!
Much love to all, Nay xx

Hi Lovely
So nice to 'hear' from you.
Well done for everything you've acheived and how well you're doing, you're a fighter and a survivior - hope you're proud x
Sorry to hear about your mum deteriorating, I know how hard it is. We're discussing things as a family at the moment cos not sure what to do.
Little man sends a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY kiss to Anya. Have a good party - enjoy yourself and remember to stop and just look at some point in the day to see what you've acheived, how happy your little girl is and how well you've done as a family - Well done Si too xxxx
Take good care

Thanks KL - I didn't realise before this illness how much of a survivor I could be, but I'm so glad I kept on drudging through those awful months for my little girl - and now it's such a joy to be well again and celebrating her first birthday.
Yesterday mood rating ;D
What a great day we had at Anya's party! We donned our aprons on Friday night and got stuck into a big baking session, and had so much fun making tiny fairy cakes in petit fours cases, heart-shaped scones and a big pink marbled birthday cake.
We had 12 children ranging from 8 months to 8 years old at the party, and they all enjoyed the bubble machine we had borrowed from one of Si's colleagues. It did begin to make the carpet rather slimy after a while though, oh well! We had a game of pass the parcel, and some dancing to a Pop Party CD and then the grown-ups tucked into scones with clotted cream and jam. The cake was a big hit with Anya, and then the children had a lovely party tea on pink plates. However Nigella's marmite sandwiches (where you blend the marmite with butter) did not go down well - maybe it was the brown bread (!!)
It felt brilliant to be one year on from returning from the maternity unit, and well enough to throw a big bash for Anya. If you'd spoken to me in March I wouldn't have believed that I would ever be so happy again. Anya looked just peachy in a spotty party dress with a pink netting underskirt, and I was so proud of her smiling and tottering around to the music! A really special day...
Love to everyone - keep looking upward and onward to your recovery, and sunshine days again - it will happen, I can promise you that.

Hi Nay
Well Done!!!!!
I quite filled up reading about Anya's party and I'm smiling now as I'm typing. What a fantastic day and an amazing recovery from not very long ago x
Everything sounded gorgeous, including the lovely Anya. And you talk about me as a domestic goddess - you'd give Nigella a run for her money!
I'm so pleased for you and you can sense the pride and love in you last post.
Take care and hope to 'run into you' soon
