I have PCOS too! I used to go about 9 months without a period! I was one of the first in the UK to trial Metformin and love the stuff. I lost quite a bit of weight on it too (and conceived my daughter

Hi WG,
I saw you metioned your PCOS in someone elses thread. I took Metformin about 7 years ago. I went to a slimming club and lost a stone and stopped taking the Metformin which was stupid. I then started again just before the PNI kicked in and gave up cos it was too much to think about at the time but I started again at the beg of Jan and am now up to 4 tabs a day. I did lose about 5lbs initially but I have put that back on. I also thought that it might have regulated my periods but I actually think that I am ovulating now and not due on which means that they are not regular! Did you watch what you ate while you were on it or did you just find that the weight fell of you anyway. I never have had the best diet but it is alot better now. Unfortunately I do like my food and don't excercise as much as I should. I was lucky though with the fertility side of things. I fell with Daisy after 4 months and 1 month with Jamie. It's weird how it affects some people one way and others another! Do you get the dreaded spots and excess hair. I do...my skin is better than it was but I'm so hairy. My bikini line stops at my knees! I love swimming but can't just go when I want...it's a major operation to de-fuzz. I have to get the lawn mower out!!
Anyway this is a PNI website isb't it not a PCOS one!!
Had a good day today. Went to toddlers this morning then into town with a friend. We had lunch then bought a load of new toys for the toddler group. It was great going round town splashing out like money was no object. Shame it wasn't mine.!

Hi Lara
I have been dead lucky in that i have never suffered with the hair or spots. I had always been a size 8 pre pregnancy, and it wasnt till i came off the pill to try and conceive that i put about a stone on and figured something wasnt right! Then of course went months wthout a period and so couldnt conceive, hence was sent for the scan and bloods and they realised what it was! I am quite a mind of knowledge on all things PCOS related, i reaearched it for about a year! And know that I am actually really lucky to not really suffer with many of the symptoms. My heart goes out to all those ladies who do and have ben unable to conceive.
So shopping for all those toys sounds good! Wish I could spend someone elses money on a load of toys! The ELC and Toys R Us wouldnt know what had hit it! LOL x
Glad you had a good day hun, hope tomorrow is just as good, if not better, for you xx

Wow size 8. I think I was about that size when I born!! I'd just be happy to be a 14 at the moment. I have been 16/18 for years but I'm sure if I tried harder I could do it.
We're off to brighton for a night on Thursday so I am looking forward to that. Hope the weather's not to bad!! x

I was also told I had polycystic ovaries when I was too young to understand, all I really remember them saying was that I would have trouble conceiving. My boyfriend must be the most fertile man on earth then, because we CERTAINLY weren't trying for a baby! I hope you're feeling ok and not too hormonal- I hate never knowing when my period is coming, although it does mean I can blame things on PMT for much longer than most people! Have fun in Brighton! Hi All....I'm back from Brighton and it was, somewhat, eventful.
We left on Thurs. morn. at 11am and I was looking forward to it. I was very dubious though because the last time I stayed away for the night was when I went to Blackpool and I felt horrendous. I was feeling a lot worse generally at the time and was further away from home but it doesn't stop the worry though. We got to Brighton after being stuck in just about every traffic jam and stopped at every set of red lights only for the sat nav to try and direct us up bus lane. We went around in circles trying to re-navigate ourselves to the hotel but the traffic was at a standstill. We eventually arrived about an hour later than we should have. We checked in and dumped our stuff in our room which was lovely. We walked down to the Sealife Centre with LO's in the pouring rain and galeforce wind!! Spen a couple of hours there and we all had a lovely time. It was lovely to see LO's faces. Got back to hotel (in pouring rain and galeforce wind) and got ready for dinner. Sat down with kids and ordered from the menu. Just as our starters arrived Daisy decided to chuck up everywhere. We had a mad panic trying to clear up and strip her without everyone else being put off of their meals!! I was so bloody hungry and my starter was just calling me. What rotten timing! The staff were ever so lovely and bought all of our meal up to our room. Daisy then went to bed having eaten nothing and we got Jamie ready for bed and gave him a bottle and out him in his cot. We watched a bit of telly for a while to let our dinner go down. About an hour later Jamie woke up and chucked up everywhere in his cot. We got him changed and he came in the single bed with me. Daisy was in the double with bed with Rodney. We all drifted off (but for me it was after every single thought going round in my head about if I panic what will happen and what if the Diazepam doesn't work). We were woken by Daisy at 1.30am and she decided that she wanted to play making a cup of tea with the tea service. We did finally manage to get her back in bed and asleep but she was up again at 5am for another cuppa!! She wnt back down until 8 by which time we all got up. We went down to breakfast and neither of the kids ate much. Me and OH did though! Went up to room to get ready and Jamie wouldn't stop crying unless he was being cudddled so took it in turn with OH to get ready. Daisy was very off colour as well. We checked out dumped our stuff in the car and headed off to the pier. It was very windy but lovely and sunny. Daisy didn't want to go on any of the rides and just wanted to sleep in the oushchair so we decided to go for a walk alomg the front but Jamie persisted in crying because he didn;t like the wind so we decided to give up and make our way home. We re-set the sat nav for a different route home! Just as we made it out of Brighton Daisy proceeded to throw up all over herself in the car. The perfect end to a perfect break!! We made our way home absolutely knackered, a little deflated and had to put up with the stench of baby sick for two hours.
On the plus side this was a big achievment for me and although it wasn't completely anxiety free it was a better trip than the one i had made to Blackpool.

Hi Lara
I am so sorry the kids so were poorly on their trip hun! I love Brighton and the sea life centre so am pretty envious! You did really well to do it all panic free! When we went to Brighton I was in a super state of PNI and spent the whole time feeling dreadful, but we went to Bournemouth last year and it was a bit easier so I know that when we get away this year it will be easier yet.
You have done so well. With all that going on you should have been panic central, but you weren't! Go Girl!
Take Care

Hi WG....well I thought it would be stressful but it was actually quite funny. It was farcical (think that's how you spell it) really a bit like national lampoons vacation!! At least we'll have stories to tell the LO's when they are older! We are planning our next mini break. We've been invited to stay in Newport for a couple of nights with my boyfriend's family mid April so that will be my next challenge. I wonder what excitement this one will bring?? We're off to the outlaws for sunday lunch this afternoon so that should be nice.

Had a lovely lunch and a bit of a relax so it has been a nice afternoon. I am feeling all hormonal tonight though and I have sort of come on. I guess my ovulation theory has gone out of the window although I would be glad to come on because not only does it mean that my periods are becoming more regular and predictable but it means that the metformin is working!

Had an ok day today. Came on properly but am amazed that I haven't really suffered with any PMT. I have been drifting off a bit today with the thoughts but have managed to reign myself back in so that they don't get out of control.
