TM I am sure you will be fine, they don't seem to worry about ribs too much do they - I know loads of people who have fractured or broken them and they did nothing but rest.

Well my Rheumatology consultant has just phoned to say my latest blood results are a bit iffy and he wondered if it was due to joint problems or infection, I told him I'd been full of lurgy for weeks and also about the rib problem, he checked by xray and said the radiographer had reported it as normal which suggest no break or no tumours but as it clearly wasn't right I would have to see orthapedics or have an mri scan - this has freaked me out, i'm imaging bone cancer and all sorts of scary illnesses, I can't believe a cough can have caused so much damage.

Oh I can!! I know of many beople who have broken ribs with a cough!
If he has already said no breaks though or tumour I think you need not worry. MRI scans are routine for pretty much everything these days and are normally just a final check x
Try to relax mate, I know its easier said than done.
Thinkinf of you

Hi all,
Been away for a couple of days at a team meeting, was very anxious but as time wore on calmed down, managed to get out of it early to have a lie down as I was very uncomfortable, went out for a meal in the evening which was nice. In a lot of pain with my ribs, the other side is now hurting, I'm trying to tell myself this is all down to tension and posture, my only comfort is that cancer is generally not symetrical but still worried sick about it. Got a night out Saturday night at Ed's racing clubs AGM/dinner, it's usually a good night but I'm not exactly in the mood for it and he's still managing to piss me off so I imagine I'm going to be a right miserable cow! Still it's a night away in a nice hotel and Tabitha is staying with my cousin so will be a nice break.
Hope all you lovely ladies are ok.
With love TM x

Hi all,
Had a nice evening out on Saturday, Ed came home with a shed load more trophies which he's really proud about (as am I) but I don't want them all over the house, they can live under the bed with the rest of them! Had a row with the restaurant manager at breakfast the next morning which kind of spoiled things, emailed the duty manager and he telephoned me last night and said all the right things but he already knew about what had happened and I thing he'd made his mind up already that we were difficult customers so I'm a bit cross about that, thought about taking it further but there's no point is there really. My rib is still terrible, looks so freaky, been back to the doctors today who wants me to have another xray from the side rather than the front and also incorporating the abdomen, I'm totally freaked out, I just want someone to say it's torn cartilage or something but nobody is saying anything reassuring and I'm getting really scared. I shall be petrified of the phone ringing now with some bad news.
Hope everyone else is ok.
With love
TM x

Hi TM
A lady I sit with in lectures has the rib thing too and apparently it was caused by her coughing and is under investigation for it. They say it is not broken but may have moved (??) but that it is not serious although it does hurt the poor thing all day.
Glad you had a nice time away, perhaps you need to go and buy a cabinet now for all Ed's trophies??

Hi L
Ooh I get so wound up with hotels sometimes. I would take it further. Once I bought my parents a night away at a Devere hotel. Anyway a wedding was on and their room was next to the function suite and they were kept awake til 4am. I don't think thats acceptable. Anyway I complained in writing (I always go to the top) and I got a snotty reply from the Manager. So I wroteback saying I don't appreciate your snotty reply, put yourself in their position etc and they got a free night ina big suite with wine, fruit, cheese etc. So they should. I am not a difficult customer in any sense but I get cross at snotty attitudes. An genuine apology is enough.
Go girl.
PS Sorry your rib is still annoying you. Blasted things. Maybe if you get really fat, you won't notice it sticking out anymore lol

Hi WG,
I'm good thanks, still in pain but it's easing up occasionally so I'm hoping I'm on the mend. Been to Cheshire today as it's my brother in law's 60th on Sunday so we've all been out for a nice lunch and then managed to get rid of him for the afternoon as my sister had arranged a surprise party for him that evening so had shed loads of food to make. We didn't stay for the party as had to travel back but have had a really nice day. How's you, glad it's the weekend I imagine, you must be knackered?
Love TM x
