Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say that I feel that it does not matter what is wrong, we are here to support. If you have felt unwell after your baby is born, then you can post on this site. I understand that PP and PNI (inclusing Post natal Psychosis) are all horrendous illnesses - illnesses that you would not wish upon anyone I am so tired though of the friction this seems to cause within this section... Everyone, who had one or other of either diagnosis, has had a terrible time. We are not in a position to decide what one or the other has had...or how bad it had been for them. We are not that person and are at the mercy of what services are available locally aswell... and the diagnoses bestowed upon us. This thread is about psychosis within PNI diagnosis however. You are welcome to talk here. Forget labels, if you had any psychotic tendencies or have been told you have postnatal psychosis, then please post here Hopefulx

Good idea Hopeful.
Do you know how Mania fits in with this? I am sure I have had aspects of that (but not psychosis)?can one have aspects of mania? Does it only occur in manic depression(Bi-polar)?
Sorry to change the whole thread maybe there is a better place for this?
Could be discussing Manic depression here and same problems would arise? I think I must read up on that - it interests me.
Sorry lots of questions and no answers??lol?

''Post-natal psychosis is a rare but serious condition. It affects women differently but some experiences are more common: • strange behaviour or ideas • hallucinations • talking apparent nonsense • lack of concentration • anxiety • not being able to sleep • agitation • thinking of self harm, or harming the new baby These are only the most common experiences. There are others. Not everyone will have all of these. It will usually be obvious that something is seriously wrong. The woman herself may not agree there is a problem. Medication will usually be prescribed which can be quickly effective.'' www.northmersey.nhs.uk/Informed/WIMHPPostnatal.htm

I am sure here is fine.
I am tired now but mania is often one side of the same coin - or at least my friend with Bi -polar would say this .
It is an interesting discussion and I too am tired of the friction discussing this aspect of PNI including PP or both kinds sometimes has
So lets go ahead and discuss whatever we want here
We are only talking about our own experience and that it what the forum is for
