Fear of getting pregnant again...

I have a friend who is 35 weeks pregnant and she paid a visit last night. I was so excited for her and couldn't resist giving her my usual bout of advice about keeping relaxed, taking all the help she can get, listening to the professionals, taking time out, sleeping, eating well... blah blah blah... basically all the stuff that I had hoped to do before my head went out of sync. I wanted to be in her shoes. The excitement of being a first time mum and all that it holds.

During the drive in this morning my partner and I discussed extending our family. Apparently his mother is pressurising him and saying that our son (soon to be 2) needs a companion. I thought we had written off having another child what with my PP, age and issues. I would love another child. So would he. BUT we're scared. REALLY SCARED!! Why is nothing straightforward???

I think to be scared is fully understandable and it is only a decision you and your partner can come too, ignore the mum in law!!

I am constantly surprised how many people ask when we are having another baby. My daughter is only 13 months and I am still recovering from depression now. It is natural to be frightened but if it is what you and your partner want then go for it. At least this time you will be fully prepared and on the alert for any signs and you should be monitored really closely this time. Good luck!
