I love this thread!
Well when I was in hospital with PP, the worst thing for my family, especially my Dad, was when people asked "How is Natasha and the baby?" and my Dad would say "well actually, Natasha is really ill in hospital" and they'd reply "But the baby, how's the baby?" and when he replied that the baby is fine, they'd say "well that's the main thing, it's good that the baby is healthy". It's as though people only cared about the baby and my Dad was like, but what about my baby?
Then, when I was out of hospital and plucked up the courage to go to church, someone said when they saw the baby "So this is who caused all the trouble then!" I was like, how did you know that's what I was thinking but it certainly didn't help someone actually saying out loud.

Cool stream to bring back up. read about half of it. Thought I might add a couple of mine.
" Dont worry you will get better" - when I really could not be bothered to keep going at all "what a lovely baby" - when he seemed like a huge mistake and I wanted to get rid of him and start again " there is nothing wrong with him, its just a rotavirus" - when he had only put on 3 pounds since birth at 4 months and was pooing 18 times a day
Make some time for yourself - and how do I do that pregnant with two small children a full time job and OH who works full time???
Hope some more of us will add to the stream.

Honestly, my jaw nearly dropped to the floor! I was reading a book on child care and there was a quote in there that said " I keep hearing about all these mothers with depression, im so busy looking after my children, I dont have time to be depressed"! Wow. Just wow! There are few responses to that that aren't just one long list of expletives!

I know! What I can't believe is that someone actually decided to print it in a book!

Noone would chose to have this illness - it was keeping busy that drove me to pni as I ran myself into the ground.
My ex mil , whom I'm extremely fond of and who was a psychiatric nurse said I looked v well when I was very ill and suggested my symptoms were all in my head!
