Thats a good idea Yoyo. I'm sure I can muster up a good handful of friends and family without too much trouble, everybody I speak to these days is a former sufferer. Then I can get the local paper to do a small artical on what we are doing and when and then ask anyone who wishes to join in to meet at ... Then the only form of responcibility I would have is to collect any sponcer money and send it on.
Yep I'm definatly in. When are we looking at? 10th Oct is too soon surely?

Yeah think 10th is pushing things a bit - and defo too long to leave till next yr. Will have to set a date when we've got a rough idea of who fancies doing it etc and maybe see if we can start a mini campaign with other PNI groups / forums / mind / apni etc etc ? Worth a shot anyways FAB winegirl - will count you in then - that you n me for Lincs then Probably my wee one too - how about yours ? Ours will have to be a shorter one me thinks

Would Feb/March be too far away?? Just thinking it gives us time to rally a bit of support and get some articels written up for us to send to local press if appropriate? What do you think?
Or should we simply go for it and do it in Nov / Dec?

Def think we all need to get christmas over and done with first

Weekend would be better as more people likely to take part. Would be nice if we could organise our own PNI Awareness day. I think Feb/March would be OK. Only thing that I can think of would be the weather being cold and wet still. If we did it a bit later on eg May time we could even get some sunshine lol. Not going against the idea of early in the year just pointing something out that may affect things. Liz x

May Bank Holiday would be a good time. It may seem a long time away but would be nice if we could get some good publicity going and this all takes time. Liz x

I'm certainly in agreement with waiting til next year thats for sure. Weather is a tricky one coz these days its hard to predict. Does much go on May bank holiday? I'm not sure myself, I think it used to be a big thing years ago but these days not so popular. It could tie in though when you think about it coz May day was traditionally when you had the may pole dancing and that sysmbolizes fertility, and when when you think about it thats what got all of us in this mess to begin with ;D

May does seem a good idea as we might get some sunshine and it is a date people will remember. I know if you have over a certain number of people attending a walk then the council like to get involved, will find out a bit more about it all. Dont want to get into trouble while we do it lol. Liz x

Yes I think the weekend is a good idea as some people make different commitments at this time. Where do we go from here? Anything I can do to help?

Good question? Well how about throwing some ideas together on what people can do. For example quite a few of us have liked the walk idea. Why not have the Walk a MIle for PNI. People could get a group of friends together to do it. Sponsored walks could be arranged on a larger scale or people could just arrange to do it on their own. I am thinking that even a walk on a treadmill at local gym might be an idea. Coffee mornings where everyone who comes buys a band or something similar. Anyone got any other ideas? For publicity, most of us will have contact with a Health Visitor and maybe they could mention it to people. Just some thoughts, my head hurts now lol. Liz x
