Hi LL, Hope you had a good one! The main thing I did to lose the weight was get a child seat for the back of my bike (& helmets!!). I hadn't exercised for 2yrs and I went everywhere on it, it nearly killed me! I was also careful about what I ate, small portions etc, I did have the occasional treat tho like the odd glass of wine & 'fun' size choccy bar! (what's fun about it being that small?? ). I found it relatively easy as I managed to stay focussed on what I really wanted. The will to lose the weight was FAR greater than the will to eat that choccy bar!!I also did karate once a week which was so much fun - kicking things really hard and shouting as loud as you want! ;D I swam once a week when I'd lost a bit to be brave enough to be seen in a swimsuit! I did have the odd bad day too but this was OK though as I just had a healthy day the next day and carried on. It worked for me and it all went in about 6 months. The best bit is when you can buy all those fabulous new clothes!! Good luck with it LL, you know you can do it!! ;D ;D ;D Love Axx

Go swimming quite a bit - but also drink alot of wine (empty calories) Thanks for all that info Andrea, I have taken it on board and gonna put it into practice myself! (once all the purple choccies have gone out of the roses tin...) WG x

Just on the diet front, I also have three stone to lose and will also be starting in the new year. Andrea I just wanted to ask you while you were on your meds, as I am on anti-pyschotics as well as Anit d's did you ever drink alchol while on them, and if so did you ever get drunk? I think I am scared to drink or get drunk as it's like losing control again, I am sure you'll understand what I mean by this.....as I used to love a glass of wine.....and I feel this is something else I have lost out on with this illness..........pp!!! xx

Hey Lou
I have always been a wine drinker and when i first went on the meds never touched it for fear of being drunk and out of control like you say. However, that didnt last long, and I am back onto a bottle a night (not good for teh diet 0 or the liver!) and have had no probs. But of course, this in on anti d's. And I do know with anti d's whilst it usually ok to drink to on them, the drink is a depressant, so can counteract the benefits of the meds a bit. As for the anti-psychotics, I will leave Andrea to answer that, as I have never been on them myself.
Take Care

Hi Lou, I did have the occasional glass of wine while on the anti-psychotics but I never got drunk as I never really wanted to, this was yet another thing I couldn’t enjoy either – I’m making up for it now though lol! I know exactly what you mean about being scared of losing control as it might be similar to the ‘high’ of PP but I think being drunk out of control is entirely different from PP, one can be very enjoyable while the other is terrifying! Don’t worry, you will enjoy your wine again, believe me. Take care Lou, Love Axxx

Thanks for that info Andrea will be on the diet in the new year - wish everyone hadnt given us so much bloody choc though - hubby and me are taking them to work for everyone else to eat lol.
I really want to lose about 3 stone - so i can pregnant and not be big before i have another one! if that makes any sense lol. Got to do it though - feeling huge at the moment.
Take care

Hi Pendleswife,
I thought that I'd never love my son too as I was just so dead inside for such a long, long time. You definitely WILL feel this bond with your son though and when it comes, it'll be amazing & even stronger than you ever imagine, honest!!
Stay strong, Axx
