Hi everyone
I am new to this site. I have been coming on here for a few months just reading the posts in here. So I am writing so any fellow PP suffers who could help, or anyone else really.
I am 27 years old and have a beautiful son nine months old. After I gave birth on March 1st, I became very ill following a few days afternthe birth. To cut a very long story short I ended up in a psyratric unit for fours days before being transfered to a mother and baby unit for three months. I am slowly begining to piece my life together again, i had never suffered any mental health problems before, pls someone tell me it does get better. I will write my story for all when I have a bit of time to myself.
Much Love xx

Hi LouLou,
A really big welcome to the site.
It really does get better, though I didn't suffer PP - hang on in there and hope you know you can talk here any time.

Hi Loulou,
My heart goes out to you for what you’re going through right now. Yes, it does get better. It’s a long, bumpy road but you WILL get there. Getting through PP was the hardest thing I’ve ever done but as Hopeful said,’ hang in there’. Life really is amazing when you come out the other side (just look at my montage to see – only if you’re feeling up to it though!). You’re already doing better than me, I couldn’t even chat to anyone on this site, I found it so helpful but could only join when I got better, so well done!
All the best, Andreaxx

Hi Loulou
Welcome to the site x
As the other ladies have said you will get through PP. Mental illness is one of the hardest things for us to deal with, but with PP and PNI the good news is that it is only temporary, and as Andrea has pointed out, when you are well again you will be so gad for all the fighting it you have done, as life is truly great again.
I am glad you have found us and decided to talk to us, and I hope you come back to talk anytime xx
Take Care
WG xx

Hi Loulou
Welcome to the site xx
Just wanted to agree with the other ladies and say that you will feel better but it does take time and that is the hardest bit. I didnt suffer from PP but did have PND. I am glad you have joined the site and feel able to write - as WG said hope you come back and talk to us.
Take care

Hi
Thank you all for the warm welcome, I have been reading posts on here for months and only now have I got the strenth to write a message. I cant wait to beat this illness and get fully well. It really does seem like a life time, only nine months. To be honest for my family my high was hardest to them as I was totally out of touch with reality but luckily for me I went the other way and thought my baby was some sort of god!!!!! The depression I am finding the hardest to deal with. I used to love life so much, I cant believe the person I have become!!!
Much Love Lou xx

Hi Lou
I know what you mean about the depression - it is hard work but you can beat this and you will get back to being yourself very soon. You have come so far already and i am sure 2009 is going to be a good year for you.
Like WG said keep talking on here, it really does help, i certainly wouldnt be here if it wasnt for this site.
Have a great xmas and take care

Dear Lou Lou
Please believe me you will come out the other end of this dreadful illness, althoug it can feel as if you never will. I had PNI and can distinctly remember being at the bottom of this pit nad couldn't see a way out. But there will be. It can be a long rocky road with ups and downs but you will get there.
You have really been through the mill (understatement). How are you feeling now? I'm certainly no expert on PP but a few women have said once they recovered from the psychotic episode they were left with deep PNI. What sort of care do you get? Are you on meds?
Take care
Monica
