What can i say, so tired but trying my best and failing. I must admit though she is settling better and sleeping slightly longer from 8pm ish, but still during the night and i am really trying my best but struggling with sleep myself cause Rs on nights and i usually dont settle very well when he is, also last couple of nights Joehas been coming down saying he's cold and last night went back into his own bed (in shared bedroom with Martha) and woke her again, aaaaaaaaarrrrgh. IT CANT LAST FOREVER, SHE WILL SLEEP SOME TIME.

Hi Bean,
We use to have the same problem with Caleb as he is breastfed and I was use to feed him to sleep in our bed, then let him sleep in the bed all night too. He's only been in his cot which is right next to our bed for about a week and is now sleeping through, well most of the time! Really we found that is was the problem was if I was in the room or if he could see me he would just scream for the breast, even when he wasn't hungry! It took a few weeks but my BF had to take him to bed and settle him in his cot. He still has to do it every night cos if I'm in the room that's it Caleb will not settle. He still wakes me about 4 - 5am but I just let him come in our bed and have his milk cos I need emptying by then anyway!!! But really I never thought he was gonna go in his cot and now he does. Trouble is now I miss him been in the bed and wish sometimes he would wake up and complain!!! HV said to me it's just about been strong and consistent with them, but I did find it really difficult and still do!!
Just offering you some hope,
Sammy xxx

I tried not to feed Martha last night but what do you do when stood in the dark with a wailing banshee trying to head bang, smack you across face and give you a love bite on the neck, i caved again, and she ended up in my bed, i was determined i wouldnt do this but i actually thought i was gonna throw up so i needed to lay down. It would be good if oh could do that but it gets left to me to train so just have to put up with it, he's been on nights since Sunday this week anyway. I just keep trying. thanks for advice and support WG and Sammy xx bean x

Hi Bean,
I can totally relate to what your going through. Caleb has started waking up at 3am and screams the place down until he gets his milk!!! He doesn't even want it cos he's thirsty, it's just for comfort cos he's poorly. It's easy to say your not gonna give in but when they are screaming, your head is pounding and you just want to go back to sleep then of course you give them the breast!!! This morning I swear he sucked the life out of me, was feeding for about 2 hours and every time tried to try him off would scream again!! I cursed things by saying he was sleeping through!!! I feel like death warmed up today. Trouble is I've only just got off to sleep then he wakes up!!! Ha and GP said to me today about thinking about stopping breastfeeding!!! How else would we get any sleep!!! I'll let you know if I find a method of calming him down again, as my BF tried to settle him but it just doesn't work any more!!!
