Hi Kim
I have just been put on 20mg of Fluoxetine and am 22 weeks pregnant. My doc told me that they will keep us both in for up to 72 hours after birth to watch baby and he could be just irritable from withdrawal symptoms. She said it lasts max a week though.
I stupidly went on internet and found other stuff that could happen but loads of people on here have said that is really rare and unlikely. Plus 20mg is only a low dosage so that's a good thing.
Hope that helps.

Hi Kim,
I was on 20 mg of prozac with my first. I had pre eclampsia though so they kept me in afterwards anyway but she was fine. With the second I was on 40mg of Prozac. I went home about 8 hours after the birth and he was fine too. Neither had breathing difficulties or any withdrawl that I was aware of. They just seemed to wake every few hours for feeds and the rest of the time they slept. There are obviously cases where some babies will suffer but I don't think they are as common as made out to be. If it was that bad doctors wouldn't let you breastfeed on AD's.
Hope this helps x
