Right, advice needed ladies!
I went back on the combined pill 10 months ago (Loestrin 30), the same pill i was on for years before i had my LO. However, i managed to convince myself that it was making my anxiety/depression worse and decided to come off it along with the fact that my GP didn't want to prescribe it anymore as it carries risks for women who are overweight and smokers (and i am both). So i decided after taking all of this into account that i would come off it.
However, since coming off it my anxiety has gone through the roof and would even say i am having regular panic attacks again which i've not been doing for a long while. Am sweating alot and having hot flushes which i don't know whether it is due to anxiety or hormones or both. Trouble sleeping, havent had a period yet and just generally feel really rubbish.
So the question is, do i try and get my doctor to prescribe it again? I'm at the end of my tether with the anxiety when i was so much better before. Having read up online as well, it seems alot of women experience these symptoms when they come of the pill.
I can't take the mini pill which is safe for overweight smokers as its progestogen only and that's meant to be the bad hormone and even the GP advised me against trying that one. So i'm kind of stuck really. I did think about the coil but it's more my hormones and the way i'm feeling i'm bothered about as opposed to contraception.
What do you all reckon?

Hi Beckah,
I had similar problems to you with anxiety and worsening pmt but i had the mirena coil (the one with hormones in it) after deciding to get the coil removed (we had to use condoms for a while) i kept a diary of my symptoms and this revealed a pattern and i took it to my gp and we decided between us that the best form of contraception for me would be the copper coil (it has no hormones in it) so i went along with that and what an improvement! generally because i am aware of my natural cycle now i can help myself with the anxiety/pmt as i know this is definately what it is.......as opposed to wondering if it was the enhanced hormones from the contraception! you could read my thread on contraception to see if it helps? i know for me the anxiety/pmt was much more of an issue than contraception so i understand how it is for you.
Not sure if this will help you at all but just wanted to share my story.xxx
