My new fear: Auditory Hallucinations. It's probably all part of the self-doubt and lack of confidence, but I'd love some input here. Yesterday when my baby was having a nap, I heard him say a word, but he was compeltely silent afterward. I checked and he was sleeping. Last night I woke up and swore I heard him moaning, when I went in to check he was fast asleep. Standing in teh kitchen yesterday, I thought I heard him talking again, but he was with his grandfather, so it couldn't have been him. There are kids staying at the hous behind, but they weren't in the garden. Am I going crazy and starting to hear things? Or are these phantom cries part of the anxiety. I'm so afraid someone will take my baby away from me because I'm losing my marbles!

Hi part of the anxiety, I have had them at times, my husband says normal people here things like the door bell ringing and babies crying. I think it's a bit like the taboo thoughts. Everyone gets these things it's just the pni makes us fear and obsess on them.
One of the most interesting things if you read about these things is hallucinations are a normal part of human existence.

I hear the phantom cries too and I know it's normal as my friends do to. Mothers ate hard wired to hear their children to protect them from danger but sometimes it makes you hear things that sound a bit like them.

Last night a similar thing happened. Our cats were fighting, and the one cat - Cleo - makes this hilarious growling noise. I was lying on the bed reading a book, and I kept thinking that I'd heard this growling noise even though she had stopped. The fan was on and I was distracted by my book, so I thought maybe my brain was just interpreting the noise incorrectly or something. Hopefully this doesn't mean I'm going mad. The holidays are really difficult. Looks like I'm going into another blip again! ARGH.

You are not going mad. The key to them being worrying would be if you didn't know it was a hallucination. This has happened to me loads I talked to my psych about it and apparently they are really common in normal people particularly around sleep times.
Don't worry
