Just wondering if anyone has had throat soreness and tightness with anxiety? Its almost like I can't relax my throat and its really not nice. Thanks x

Hi hun, this wasn't a particular symptom of mine with the anxiety but I should imagine it could be quite a common one as your muscles tense up when you are feeling anxious? X

Thanks sweetie, I went to the docs about it a while back and she said it was likely to be anxiety but its just one of those things I find hard to believe is linked to PNI. But then, thats probably just my ' jumping to the worst conclusion' ability! It does seem to get worse on bad anxiety days...

It's surprising the amount of physical symptoms that can be brought on by anxiety xx

Yep I also had tinitis and at my worst I had a pain in right ear which I convinced myself was a tumour or more bizarrely, an issue with my parathyroid gland!! My GP quickly put that to rest and looking back the symptoms list I had was quite bizarre!
I suspect this is what's happening with you ;-)

Hi all,
I am just returning to this site after many years away... when I was at my worst the front of my neck and my throat were impossibly tight and I find that when I have bad days now, five years on into my recovery, thats the one physical symptom that always returns. I did wonder whether it was something to do with the 'brave face' I always felt `i had to put on. Like it was the effort of smiling or something. At the time I completely separated what was happening in my mind from what was going on in my body- now I'm further down that line I can see how silly that was. We can't separate the two!
I hope that yours has been improving. I have found 'fascia' massage has helped to retrain the muscles that always tighten and it bothers me far less now. I think a lot of my sadness and anxiety still hangs out there- I often find myself having a good sob after a massage! Maybe doing something good for your body could help too?
K x
