Sorry about your spd giving you jip, how is it this eve? Better I hope x Sounds like you are totally on it organisation wise! I didn't have any pain relief with my home birth and like you say, I think it was because i was relaxed and comfortable that I didn't feel like I needed any. But the midwives bring gas and air with them if you find it good. I didn't worry about pain relief until I was in transition and I remember thinking "Oh my god, I need an epidural" and then 10 minutes later he was born! Even if I had been in hospital it would have been too late to have an epidural anyway. Listen, I wouldn't worry about going into labour before 38 weeks. If you do and it's after 37 weeks, I think it's unlikely that they would quible over what would effectively be a few days before their cut off date. Stick to your guns I would, thats a rule that varies from place to place. Here, they're happy as long as you're over 37 weeks. I'm sorry it's making you anxious, I remember a similar situation worrying me too. Hope you get a better nights sleep x

It's the nights that are worst with it, the lying and trying to turn in bed, some nights I just cry because of the pain!! I defo won't miss this part lol Yeah my gas and air is getting delivered this week and have my midwife check on weds so all good there. I honestly don't think I'll need pain relief either but it's always a worry isn't it?! Lol. Others have also said the same re:37/38 weeks. I suppose I'm just so close now and I really want my homebirth! I'm trying not to let it bother me and I've explained how I feel to my hubby so he's prepared to back me up and help me stick to my guns so that's something. Off to try and get comfy now damn you spd! Xx

Erm honestly??? Have had a crappy couple of days including a major wobble regarding the homebirth but after a shaky, emotional start this morning it's now looking like I'm in early labour YAY! Been having contractions since about 1.30pm, every 8 mins now down to about every 6/7 mins lasting roughly 45-60 seconds so slowly making progress. The weird thing is, an am quite freaked out by it, this morning my dog was absolutely shaking, he sat at my feet like a quivering wreck and then bolted upstairs, he never goes upstairs on his own, but he sat shaking at my bedroom door. Eventually we took him for a walk which seemed to calm him down and since then he's been fine, was very bizarre! Lol. I'll keep you updated xx

Thank you, things pretty much the same for now - seem to have plataued when kids came home from school but still contracting so that's good. It's funny how your environment affects these things. Hopefully after kids go to bed they'll pick up and it'll all start to happen! Yes very weird about the dog, he's hardly left my side since we got back from our walk.
Will update later xx

Yeah had midwife appointment this afternoon and have been having contractions on and off all day so she thinks it'll be sooner rather than later. Poor wee man had hiccups whilst she was listening to his heartbeat, it was quite amusing lol. Love this heat but it's making me feel hot and bothered and everyone cutting their grass is giving me a blocked nose! Grrr x
