Hi
I suspect that these feelings of not loving your daughter/husband/family (possibly feels like emotional numbness?) could well stem from this intial period of taking meds. I think I mentioned I felt worse for 2-3 weeks then slowly things started to lift.
I guarantee you love your baby, husband and family - of course you do. It's horrible watching everyone else interacting normally whilst you are feeling so terrible and isolated. Try and put it down to a rubbish day - tomorrow is another day. Can you do any exercise - it doesn't have to be especially energetic just enough to get your heart racing a little as that can release endorphins and give you a natural lift. Obviously do what you can especially as it's not long after the birth.x

I can't understand how it's making me feel this way?
What if this is all my true feelings? What if this is it for me?
So scared Monica so so scared! Xx

I'm not medically qualified but from what I can gather, meds act on your nervous system so they can bring on odd symptoms especially initially. Many ladies say it can bring on emotional numbness - this should ease off as your body gets used to them. I know these feelings can be scary as they don't make sense. Also I have no doubt that these feelings can make the anxiety worse. Try not to dwell on how you're feeling - distract yourself as much as you can - just try to accept this is how you are temporarily and not over focus. Saying that I know also how hard this is to do.
What type of think relaxes you? Bath, massage ? Try and spend even 15 mins this evening doing something that makes you feel better ordinarily. It might not work tonight but give it a gox

Weekend was horrible Monica! My thoughts are getting worse and more often! I feel like an absolute monster! I had a positive day yesterday as I went to see a nutritionist and she has given me some advice on what vitamins I need and on my diet to help me battle PND! How are you? X

Poor you! There's a good chance it's the meds and if you can hang on in there. Perhaps talk to dr for advice ? What did they say about diet and PNI ? That's really interesting.
All fine with me thx. I've had a bit of a crappy spell but feeling better x

Awh glad you are feeling better! Crappy spells are horrid! It was more about my vitamins and apparently I was a breakdown waiting to happen as I have had a tough few years with deaths work stress etc and my b vitamins in my body have gone so I'm on loads of vitamins to help restore my body to help lift my mood! Apparently can take months so again not a quick fix! Been told to cut of dairy as it doesn't agree with me but have always lived with t but apparently will feel better if I do that! She has also given me calming essence to take to help me with my anxiety! Xx

Funnily enough I take vit B - a legacy of PNI is pmt and I found vit B helps with this. A cpn who specialised in PNI recommended it along with evening primrose oil when coming off antids so I've kept it up.
Hope things start to pick up for you. The sun is shining - have you had the chance to top up vit D?

Ah that's good Monica! Yeah Caroline said to me that when I want to come off anti d she can advise me on natural things to have so I guess it will be something like evening primrose! Yeah I went out today it was beautiful and have plans for tomorrow with my mum and sister so hopefully I will be ok in the morning! Did you get out much today? X

Hi
Sorry about the late reply - just been manic! How has the weekend been for you? I hope you've continued to feel good. What did you get up to with your mum and sister? How's baby?
I'm fine thanks - tired (but what's new?) had a fairly productive weekend in a way - was supposed to start sanding my hallway but haven't got round to it - there's always tomorrow!x
