Sorry to write on your post Onepotato but I wanted to say that the answers ( as much as I can tell you the solution) are below
Veitee
(Apologies if i am posting this in the wrong place) I am having trouble logging in. I'm not sure if its my computer or i'm just being dumb but everytime i log in when i go to change password etc it says an error has occured and kicks me out again. I have had a look at the help section and couldnt figure it out, just wondered if anyone might have an idea what i'm doing wrong!

Hi One Potato
and anyone else with logon problems.
I will put this at the top to help anyone else, and change the title to logon problems, if this is OK
Were you using the new password I sent? Do yo get as far as the option to put in your password?
However try the things below and then just to try to get in use as a password 'password' all small
If all is OK you can change it
Check that you are using your sign in name 'onepotato' just like this ie all small and no spaces.
***You are not doing anything wrong - it works for most but if it does not , it will be just a browser setting or a setting on your computer in general.
To start try the following If so try the following if you are using Internet explorer.
If you are using AOL then it does nt usually work to use my site within AOL. you have to sign on to AOL, minimise the AOL window and open an Internet Explorer or other browser window ( firefox is a good alternative browser) and view the site in IF
First make sure you browser is IE 4 or above preferably 6. If not update it
Then
go to tools - internet options - Privacy and advanced - then make sure u tick 'override auto cookie handling' and 'always allow session cookies' and make sure you have selected to accept all cookies.
close down IE and restart - do this after everything you try.
If it still does not work:
Then go - tools- internet options - security - custom level and enable practically everything.
If you have a good firewall installed or even if you use windows XP built in firewall with service pack 2, you should be fine to turn set these default security settings to let most stuff through
I find that as long as you have a firewall, these settings just interfere in you viewing some sites and do little else really to protect you - however if you do not have a firewall, still turn most security settings off or low and then when the logon works you can go through and one by one turn them back up until you find any that prevent the logon working.
(and if anyone goes through this laborious process and finds out what security settings interfere - let us know by posting on here, so we can just turn off what is needed - I have never found out the exact ones that interfere because I have a firewall and have all default settings set to allow nearly everything and to find out which ones interfear with the logons would take forever)
If it still does not work
You could also try tools- internet options- advanced and switch on all security options here except 'empty temp internet files' 'do not save encrypted files' and 'warn if changing from secure and not secure' leave these blank.
Then make sure all java is enabled ( this actually should not affect the forum , but you need to enable all java stuff , especially java applets if you ever want to use the chat room, so you might as well do this now.
Also make sure that scripts are enabled both under this section and security.
Also just for while you are logging on , make sure that 'pop ups' are enabled for the site, either if you have XP service pack 2 through the built in pop up blocker under tools -pop up blocker - turn off
Also make sure that you do not have any more pop up blockers as these are installed with various extra tool bars such as MSN and Yahoo toolbars.
The logon does not actually use a pop up window so it should not matter , but I find sometimes you have to turn everything off to get in.
I do hope this helps and because it tool me absolutely ages to write – I have put this tread on top so I do not have to write it again and changed the thread title.
All the best
Veritee
HI One Potato
Sorry I did not realise yu had Phobic/going out problems or I would not have suggested baby groups etc.
Many women as I am sure you know have problems with leaving the house, driving, going on public transport, going in supermarkets etc
I will add also that I have known several friends n the past who did not have PNI at all but they also with their first baby at least reported that for a few weeks even months they found going out difficult, especially crowded places and especially with the baby - one or too said they thought it was the newness of being responsible for such a vulnerable life - and they panicked if they let the baby at home as they could not cope with not being the one looking after their child.
This makes me wonder if this is not part of an normal reaction to having a baby to protect - that has got a bit out of control.
However I am sure my theories will not help you and the difficulties with going out you get with PNI become a lot more difficult than this - and last longer.
I therefore think from my own experience that it will not help to push yourself into going to mother and baby groups etc at this point. When just going shopping or walking down the road is difficult - going regularly to a group may be impossible.
My advice, it I can give any ( I have suffered this too) is not to push yourself to do anything too stressful, but to do things in small steps. with this I found that it is important to not to completely give into it and just stay at home but also not to push yourself too much.
Success builds success and each time you do more or go further, push yourself just a little beyond what is comfortable - but not too far - the next time you will be able to do that bit more before any panic kicks in.
Try going out only for small things you enjoy, coffee in town and straight back, to buy something you really like, walk round a place you like, hairdresser, pedicure, whatever you enjoy doing that does not take too long.
Horrible this is - I had it with PNI but I have a previous history of what I called agoraphobia as when I was about 15 to 17 and got it again with my daughter at over 40. But others on here are the same and have never had it before PNI . What are your other symptoms that bother you most?
All the best
Veritee

I've had another try but without sucsess. I am not very computer literate which is a bit of a bummer, plus my head is feeling a bit frazzled today so have decided to leave it for a while. Thanks a lot anyway!

Hi, I am a new member and seem to be having login problems. When I get to the main Forum screen I can log in fine but when I go into a sub-menu, it keeps saying Welcome Guest at the top of the page! What am I doing wrong?
