Hi to everyone. I first suffered PND 10 years ago after I had my son and it lasted 18 months and was hell. I've just had my 2nd child 9 days ago and really thought I would escape it this time but it looks like I won't, I can feel myself crashing downhill fast.
So, I've wandered in here - oh, I'm Louise, 29 and live in the UK by the way.
Best wishes,
Louise

Hi, thanks for the welcome. I spoke to my midwife today and had a really good chat with her. She was really understanding and supportive and is going to keep in touch with me over the next week to play it by ear a bit and see how it goes. I'm really hoping it's just hormones still flying around in my system which need time to settle down. After all, last time I really didn't bond with my son whereas, this time we;ve bonded really well. I don't know if that has any bearing on it or not but I hope so. Still we'll see - feeling very down and tearful tonight which seems so crazy - I've tried for four years for this beautiful little boy and now he's here and I'm so happy and just feel so low! It's just crazy isn't it?! It seems really unfair too doesn't it. Anyway, thanks for your welcome posts

Hi Louise
Welcome to the site. I am glad you found us. We are here to listen whenever you need us. I know what you mean about things being confusing. I had fertillity problems and when I finally had my daughter she was very much wanted and yet I felt miserable. I never could figure it out. I thought that I should have been so happy but all I did was cry. PNI is such a horrible thing but it does get better.
Congratulations on the birth of your baby.
