hi everyone, can i join?, i'm 22 and have 4 month son and have got pnd, my problems started first of all after losing first baby at 17 weeks in to pg, had to give birth to her and suffered severe anxiety and depression, it took 2 yrs to recover fully and i never thought i'd feel like that again. when i first found out i was expecting i was over the moon and then everything changed i knew the depression was bac but gp would not listen so i struggled on and hada beautiful baby and it was love at first sight. for a couple of weeks after the birth i felt fine and thought i wassilly for feeling like that but then a whole new bunch of horrible thoughts came in to my head and i cant get rid of them. i was on 20mg of prozac for 6 weeks and they made me worse rather than better. i have now been on venlafaxine for 2 weeks and feeling a little better but dr said we can put them up if necessary.
anyway i hope u haven't got bored reading as b4 i started typing i didnt know wot to say but all this has sort of come out!
look forward to speaking to u all soon xx

i didn't find your storey boring at all, im sorry to hear of your loss it must have benn v difficult for you, however surly you would have been marked as haveing a higher risk for pni because of this i know that here you would be checked more freq by hv. Anywhay im glad that you are feeling better and finding help in your anti- de's, i took the venlafaxine but it gave me terrible nightmares and holutionations and the shakes, but everyone reacts diff dont they.
alot of the women on this site have suffered from bad thoughts also, i had visions of my son being hurt etc.,
i hope you do keep posting as it has helped me alot.
take care big hugs and welcome.

Hiya Loopylou, Sorry to hear about your loss, & I understand totally about those horrible thoughts that go through our heads we can't explain why, its part of PNI. I hope the new meds are working a little better for you if not see your gp hun. I've had PNI for bout 6 yrs & I call them my blips or black clouds, but I have come along way from the trauma I had with my first boy. I'm glad you've joined, keep us posted how you feel won't you hun! Love Jane xx

hi al, pc wont let me log in so had to come on as a guest. sorry it has taken me ages to reply but i have been reallybusy as was made redundant as company has gone in to liquidation so been trying to sort all that out. positive side is that i have got a new job 3 nights a week in a local hotel bar and i feel a bit like the old confident me.. even if only for a few hrs a nite!. i have been on new ads for 6weeks and felt awful for first 8 days then great for 4 weeks then last week i felt like i was back to square one again but i think that was just a blip as feeling ok again now. i do still get the thoughts about death and dying and all the what if this and whys that but i feel like i am more in control and i'm hoping ththings more and they will be fading in to the background and eventually being able to see things more rationally. sorry its not very long post i want to get ethan to sleep so i can go to as did not finish work til 1.30am.
thanks again for your messages of support its nice to no that i'm not on my own as the thoughts are so scary i feel like i'm loosing my mind sometimes.
xx
