Hi everyone
sorry i havn't been around alot, but i have been having some problems with my health.
I have been having problems with my bowels, (the runs) constant for months i am a present been seen by a genral sergeon at the local hospital, they have advised that there is a high possiblity that it is caused by ibs. Your prob wondering why i am writting this and what it has to do with postnatal depression?
well my doctor has advised me that it is likly to be this because i had an emergancy c section when my son was born, it has been explained that when an emergancy section is performed they more the intestines out the way sometimes with speed so as to get the baby out that this can cause the flare up of ibs.
i thought it may be of intrest as other than the runs the common syptoms are a pain down the right side of abdomine, constapation, back ache bloating.
and obviously the syptoms of the syptoms so to speak such as headaches from dehidrating (from the runs) tiredness from constipation and depression from all of the above.
anyway i have prob just gone on for to long.
hope everyones ok.
love rachel

Hi Rachel and Anne-Marie,
I have had IBS, but getting much better now though. I read somewhere (can't remember where I'm afraid) that IBS is linked to PNI....
I didn't know the other symptoms of IBS Rachel (''are a pain down the right side of abdomine, constapation, back ache bloating''). Thanks for that, makes sense of some of the aches and pains.
Hopefulx

Hi sorry i haven't been around alot but just as a up date you can get a tablet called colpermin which you take for ibs and all that is in it is pepermint oil in a capsule when you take it it disolves in your bowels and helps with wind and bloating. the only down side is it can make you feel as if someone has put an exta strong mint up your bum. The consultanat has advised that it is safe when on other meds. I have missed you all love rach

Hiya Rach,
Nice to have you back with us, I'm glad you've found a tablet that helps. I don't have IBS, I've never been very regular in that department, sometimes going 2-3 weeks between! But it's normal for me, so I don't worry although nobody else seems to agree with me! lol
