I have been on medication for about 3 weeks now and emotionally feel quite an improvement. However, physically the symptoms I had before treatment are still as bad as ever. These symptoms are:- muscular type pains in my right side - fromthe hip to my foot - when I stand up after laying for sitting down I can't walk properly for a minute or two I wake at night with numb hands (i've had this before it was carpal tunnel) my wrist are painful during the day too I see things floating in front of my right eye and see white patches These are the main ones, just wondered if anyone else has/had these type of symptoms? When will they go away? Are they really all in my head ? I could understand that they were in my head if they changed and I had different symptoms. Thanks Dipsy

Hi
I had a lot of physical symptoms which actually preceded any depression/anxiety ones. I found that my emotions lifted quite quickly, but it took longer for the physical ones to go and it was sort of in reverse order of appearance first to arrive, last to go. Infact it was a good 5 or 6 months beofre some of my physical symptoms started to improve.
I had pressure round the eye with pain - still got it but much better. Numb patches on arms and legs - gone and from memory went within a couple fo months of starting antids, likewise with headaches. There was something weird about my vision, but couldn't describe it. That went within a couple of months.
I used to see little floating spots. They don't appear to be there anymore. Had forgotten about that until you mentioned it.
I have on/off joint ache which appears to be triggered by tiredness over a prolonged period (that's just my guess). Alot of women with PNI complain of joint probs.
Have you seen your dr about the physical symptoms? Mine was quite good and got me checked out by specialists. I saw the eye clinic who gave me a clean bill of health and today the ENT specialist, who likewise could not give me an explanation for my symptoms.
Have you had any blood tests. I'm awaiting results for my joints - poss arthritis.
Don't doublt your symtoms. It was suggested to my maybe it was psychosomatic - how the hell could I imagine a pressure round my eye? Where would that have come from?
I know that with my eyes, I had a prob and everytime I wnet to an eye clinic (I went to 3 diferent ones), they said I was fine. You start doubting yourself. But stick with it. Hassle your dr. PNI can have lots of physical symptoms and not all necessary anxiety related, either.
