breastfeeding and periods

i believe my periods have returned, although they are extremely light.

i have all the symptoms of periods (including incredibly bad PMT) yet a tiny amount of blood.

also whenever i stop breastfeeding for a while (eg a night out when babysitter uses expressed milk) i begin to bleed vaginally and feel awful like i do at the mo lol this too is light - but its still there and an effect of stopping breastfeeding for a bit (18 hours to let the alcohol leave my system) -

any thoughts ladies?

Hmmmm interesting. FOr me I started my periods again 6 days after stopping breastfeeding so I guess the bleeds could be related perhaps?? Also PNI & PMT /PMS often go hand in glove too.

Wondering: When you stop breastfeeding for a few hours (to let alcohol out of system) are you pumping and dumping (I hate that expression lol)?

yes i do pump and dump lol,

most of the time i do this in the shower - although im not entirely sure how long the alcohol stays in the system and to what level in the blood. iv heard that the alcohol comtent in breastmilk after drinking is quite minute, but im paranoid so pump and dump anyway!!!

but when im out im not breastfeeding and theres usually a break of 18-24 hours between the time i go out, sober up, pump and dump and then breast feed. ..
