Hi carlie,
I get these faint feelings. I think it is all to do with anxiety. I had this feeling yesterday while out in a garden centre.
It sort of creeps over you the light headedness and sort of swimmy head, and you feel a bit sick sometimes too. And sometimes your heart is going fast and banging hard sort of jarring all through your body and sometimes feel shakey. Not a set pattern either. It is the body playing tricks on you!!
I have not fainted, but usually have to get out of the situation I am in. The trouble is then you begin to associated the places you are, with how you feel, then you can end up avoiding these places and get caught in that cycle.
I tried to distract myself yesterday, as coming home and laying down made it worse, and my hands and everything was shaking. So I made myself go into the garden and work for a while, I did feel faint out there and I cried, but the feeling actually went away, I think it got rid of the excess adrenaline.
It feels a bit frightening when this happens to you. But after talking to other people on here, it seems like it is anxiety which is the problem. It does go away as you begin to feel better.
hang in there, Love Jay x

Hi carlie
You know today I have been at home with my little one and my parents cam over, not anxious, perfectly fine, and have felt faint all day. And I mean all day.
You know I wouldnt mind like you said if I was having a panic attack or something, but no, was otherwise fine! This has happened to me ever since my daughter was 6 weeks old, so I am sure the drs are right and it is PNI related, that is why I believe it is the same for you.
How are you doing now hun? Here for you x

Hi carlie
I still have the sickness phobia but it does seem alittle better. Still panic when the nausea comes though!
My feeling faint has gone on all day but subsided, but there will be the odd day when it doesnt come at all. I think it starts off all the time, then you begin to have the odd few hours break, then the odd day, odd days, odd week and so on.
Glad you had a nice evening hun x Hang in tehre, we are right behind you x

i dont understand where its come from tho? i was doing so well. How long have u been suffering this terrible illness? Glad u are feelin better now. I also have a BIG phobia of being sick in public! it started when i was 17 first time i got depression and had panic attacks. i used to run back to the car if i was out cos i thought i was goin to be sick. I still now feel sick when im anxious but i been told to stay in the situation and tht it will go! it does work but often i cant stay there to test it!
i really hope im not goin backwards to the point wherre i have to got back to day hospital or worse! I really hope this is just a blip, but do blips last this long? its been 2 months so far and no sign of it geting any better.
thank you so much for talkin to me. Im thinkin of writing my story so far, where to i email it to? x

Hi
I used to get teh faint feeling like my blood pressure had suddenly dropped and I'd also feel sick and woozy - I didn't have the raciing heart either but I'm pretty sure they were panic attacks for me just without all the classical symptoms.
Just liek Jay said avoiding these stressful situations can be worse in the long run as it is common to avoid them to stop yourself feeling this way. If you can, trytaking slow deep breaths adn as you manage to face these situations or places, they will become less stressful and you won't feel that way. It will take a bit of practice.
Gald you are feelign better this pm.
Take care
Monica

thank you monica, i cant really say its in certain situations. it can be anytime anywhere! even sat at home where im safe! This pni is very horrible i dont like it and really want it to go away now, i think iv suffered long enough and some of u have for even longer. Its a very scary thing to realise i could be lookin at years of this not jus months. x

I also didn't always know what set my panic attacks off either. I distinctly remember once sitting in my lounge, proabbly stressed as I was stressed 24/7, then suddenly feeling faint, weak and sick and thinking i was goign to collapse. Nothin in particular had happened. My cpn reckoned that it could havebeen a subconcious thought or event that triggered it.

Hi Carlie
I felt scared about the prospect of thsi lasting for years too. I wish I had started antid's sooner to sort the problem out. Some ladies really do only suffer for a few months, for me it has been 16 so far, but hopeful it will go soon.
Like Monica says, I can be sat doing nothing in particular and feel faint and sick. Sometimes it can last all day, the only relief is sleep. But I have seen so many come through this now that I know we will too. x

thank you monica and winegirl its a relief to know im not the only one. U know ppl on here have so much more insight than my gp does. she never once mentions pni when i go, she never asks how im coping or anythin. i feel reall crap tonite, dizzy, sick, shaky and my body feels weak I feel like i need to cry but its really wierd cos i seem to not b able to. i used to scratch myself (self harm ) years ago as a way of coping with depression. im findin it really had not to do it, i wont bcos i know i have a daughter now but im really fighting it. want it to stop x
