Hi guys, yep, I'm back again Had a second little girl in February and the dreaded PNI got worse again..... shall fill you in on the general section of board. The reason I'm posting here is this time I've had what I thought was severe mouth infection. The first time I was treated for thrush, through just a discussion I had with the receptionist at the doctors and her relaying my symptoms. However, it came back and this time I went to see the doctor. She could find nothing wrong. She said it looked sore, but she couldn't see anything else to explain it. She gave me a mouthwash and some tablets incase I was having reflux indegestion. Anyway, it's come back a couple of times since and every time it returns, as usual, the dreaded thoughts come into my head.... what if... I was just wondering has anyone else had a sore mouth and tongue? I'm wondering if clenched teeth and sucking in the mouth during stress causes this sort of thing? The soreness is mainly in the palette of my mouth and around the edge of my tongue, although, the longer I have it, the more it spreads. It's a burning sensation and I sometimes feel like I've eaten a load of salt. I also seem to have bad sinus problems at the same time. Thanks x

Hi Babytales
Cant say I have had that one (although had pretty much everything else!). Have you mentioned it to your GP? Might be worth it to see what he/she thinks?

Hyia
Yep, I saw the GP - sorry, I've modified the post, as I realised I just said "her" rather than "the doctor". Makes a bit more sense now lol.
I keep putting off going to see her again at the moment as those awful thoughts in my head keep making me think it's oral cancer or the symptoms of something terrible.
Will go see her again when I'm feeling a bit stronger.

Is it like you've burnt your mouth (but know you haven't)?? If so mine is like that too. I've looked at my tongue and their are marks on it one day (almost look like I had bitten right through my tongue), then gone the next. I have to taste at work so its starting to get to me.

Yes, I was thinking that today, that it feels like I've burnt my tongue on hot food.

On the sore mouth...........
I know this thread was posted a while ago, but come across it and i thought i would add a little as i have the same!!
I have had pni for 2 years now and although the bad times are not to bad now, i still have a sore mouth and tongue, i too have the what if it's mouth cancer!!! i went and got a emergency app with my dentist a few months ago as my tongue was very sore and looked like i have open sores at the back- needless to say i was convinced i had mouth cancer, b4 the dentist re assured me it was a vitamin c deficiency! maybe as we feel generally ill our immune system is low and the vitamin c is subsequently low too. Might be worth trying some vitamin supplements see if it improves.
I tend to chew my tongue and inside off my mouth in the night due to tension and stress through the pni.
So just thought i would add this if it helps??
I still have the what if thoughts all the time and have to constantly battle with my thoughts tot try and put things in the right perspective !!!
Anyway hope this gets to you!
Sam
