Hi all
Well, I am back on the cycle of worrying about my symptoms again this week - and I assume it may be because my period is due next week.
I have been so obsessed with trying to put on some weight (although have managed NOT to weigh myself for a while) that I have been eating a lot of rubbish. Now I'm looking at myself and thinking I still look quite thin in most places but my stomach is fatter - and then of course I'm thinking I must have cancer or something and this is making my stomach swell.
Has anyone else found they see themselves differently depending on what they're worrying about? I am trying not to poke and prod myself but the battle with my will is getting harder this week.
Less than two weeks to go now until I see my gynaecologist - it cannot come fast enough for me.

Hi Nicola,
I just had to reply as like you, I used to worry about symptoms alot (know what you mean about the C word) - especially around the build up to my period. It was around this time that my GP expected a visit, and this became a definite pattern.
It is a battle of will to ditract yourself from focusing on aches and pains/ symtoms - which I've learnt can actually accentuate them!
Anyway, just wanted to empathise. Let us know how you get on Hopefulxx

Hi Nicolad
Yeah, if I thought there was something wrong with any part of my body I would be certain it looked different too. I think if you concentrate on something long enough then it does kind of look different.
I really hope your cycle of thoughts ends for you soon hun, we are always here for youx

Hi there Winegirl and all
Well, had my gynae appt today. He was a lovely man who was very calm and reassuring. It is my ovary that is hurting but he said everything feels absolutely normal and thinks my symptoms are nothing to be concerned with. He did say if I wanted to reassure myself further he can book me in for a laporoscopy but obviously that is a surgical procedure and I don't want to go down that route if I can avoid it.
So, feeling a bit calmer now - I just have to start trusting all these people!
Hope you are all ok.
Love Nicolad xx

Hi Nicolad
Glad the appt went ok! Best to avoid the Laproscopy, it isn't pleasant! But if they though there were even the smallest chance of a problem they would have had you in for one, so all definately looks good then!
Thanks for letting us know how it went, and please keep in touch with how you are doing x
Take Care
