Also these famous women have had PND, some in it's most severe form: Fiona Shaw Clair Rayner Esther Ranzen Rachel Hunter Princess Diana
and others, so never give up hope, these women recovered went back to work and are fine now, there is an end, and you will get better even though it feels like your world is at an end, you will get through this. Just take one day at a time and don't think much further than that for the time being, you will be back to normal in the end.

princess Diana should be remembered as the first personality who very openly came out and said she had PNi. God bless her i liked her very much and she would have made a great patron for PNi issues, if she had been around now... this would have had high profile.
Judy Finnegan, fern Britten, Zoe Ball and Natasha Hamilton (atomic kitten fame) all had it too Deborah xx

An Update
Gail Porter,Perhaps others can add to this list? Queen Victoria, Lady Diana, Esther Ranzen,Trisha, Marie Osmond - wrote a book on postpartum depression, Fiona Shaw - actor, Rachael Hunter, Sadie Frost, Susannah Constantine ('What Not to Wear') ,Wendy Harmer - Aus, breakfast TV queen, Fern Britten, Denise Welsch, Melinda Messenger, Judy Finnigan,Jerry Hall, Clair Rayner - a few times after each child I think, has really made a career of it, Natasha Hamilton from pop group Atomic Kitten
I've e mailed a few but never had a repy. I was not asking for money just to put their name to the site and the issue - perhaps we can try again at some point?

hello
I too think it is good that these celebrities speak out and admit that they too have experienced pni.
I saw an interview with wee Gail Porter recently on GMTV and she had taken an overdose a number of weeks ago. She looked so nervous and u could see how ashamed and embarassed she was telling Lorraine Kelly about the overdose. I really felt for her because she was really ill. She said that she had been taking the ADs for a long while and felt so good she decided to stop them altogther of her own accord. This meant she ended up hitting rock bottom, hence what happened to her.
She didn't glean things over or make out that she wasn';t really ill or anything she was just a wee soul sitting there telling it like it is! But u could see that she still felt all the stigma etc that we feel about this nasty illness.
I think she would make an excellent name for our forum but of course it is getting in touch with these people. She also said in her interview that she wasn't even sure if she was going to do it she must have felt that anxious about it all, but I am so glad she did.
love collette x

It must take a lot of courage - especially when you are in the spotlight already.
I mean no one really knows us and we don't want to tell people how it really is.
So celebrities must really find it hard when they have PNI
I mean you are always supposed to look your best - mentally and physically?
