Hi everyone,
Before I found this site, I always new there were other women out there with PNI but never new anyone. One day a friends mum gave me an article written by Denise Welch(Coronation Street)about her ordeal with it.(Some years ago now)
I read it, & sat & cried, I suppose in relief really. Everything she said was as though it was me writing the article. Her husband, actor Tim Healy (Auf Wiedersehen Pet) commented & had suffered like many of our partners do! Praying for the wife he met to come back! He's stood by her through thick & thin.
She wrote another article this year about her "hell with mental illness"in a national paper. She had a boy & started with the PNI & she said it took her 10yrs before she could even consider trying for another. She has now had it for 16yrs but she says "there are millions of other people like me & if they can see this moderately successful actress working on TV, maintaining a family & living a contented life, then that gives them the hope and knowledge that they will also get better." & "And that makes me feel better too", she said.
I thought it was great that she shared her experiences via the media, I wish she would make a documentary on PNI, so more people are made aware of this, including professionals & woman like us. It goes to show this illness dos not descriminate, it can hit anyone, including those that we think are far better off than us.
Just wanted to share it with you thats all, her 2 articles were all I had until I found you all!!!!
