Hi I tried to post in off topic but it wont let me as a guest so on the main forum it will have to be. Did anybody see the article about Brooke Shields in todays daily mail suppliment. Basically it was about her PNI or PND as she called it and was very good and very honest. She is writing a book on the subject apparently. Anyway I was reading what you posted Tanya about contacting celebs and I know she isnt a british celeb but certainly seems to want to raise awareness of the illness. Anyway if you havent read it may make you feel better that even gorgeous celebs are nor immune from this illness.

Yeah it is good to see that people have the guts to speak out about it, isnt it.
I remember when my baby was about 3 months old & I heard Melinda Messenger on the radio talking about pni. When I listened it made me cry, she was so honest. Think that was when I realised there was something not quite right for me too.

Hi Anna and Lisa
I do not think I deliberate made the off topic so that guests cannot post. Anyway I do not remember doing so.
It is the default not to let guests post, so I think I left the default without changing it.
If would make sense that the off topic was available to guests to post so I will move this thread and make it so.
As to Celebrities - I think it does help if they 'come out' and say they suffered too. I have always wanted a celeb patron to put their name to this site as they have Fern Briton on the PNISHA site , but I do not think one of my skills includes being a PR person to promote this site
(this was one of the reasons my one attempt to run a business failed I think - I prepared for it by doing a NVQ4 business studies course and know it all in theory, but I am just not able to 'sell' anything and this is essential in business and even runnign a successful internet non-profit service)
Anyway I was inspired by LM coming out about her PNI, - she is not an intellectual, or someone already with the reputation of being involved in charity work like Clair Rayner Easter R etc, but she was willing to tell all about it and this is quite a risk - and contacted her (Linda Messenger) about putting her name to this forum.
But I did not get a reply nor from any other Celeb I've contacted.
I guess in one way I was getting too big for my boots in expecting anyone to be a Patron of a web forum which is nto a registered charity, but while there are other issues involved one of the reasons I have never gone down the road of a registered charity is because I have never got enough people willing to be on a management committee and a famous Patron would attract this.
Anyway, if anyone wants to have a go at contacting any celebrities to see if they would be interested in putting their name or their support to this site in any way - please feel free to do this. (It might be a good idea to show us the letter first so that we know what is being written in our support)
I would be pleased if someone would try as I have rather run out of stream myself.
All the best
Veritee
