I fust discovered this thread today and I have to say I'm fair tickled. WG you an your incident in the shop! I can imagine how much the loved you. As for Mothercare, well hello its a baby shop!!!
I have a double buggy, can I say its hell. Its a one in front of the other one. its like an artic lorry. You need such a wide swing to get round, they lads keep laugging at me saying things like will you get the trailer round etc etc.
I was in the garden centre not so long ago with the buggy and stuart, the baby, well 9m, was in front, he is a complete menace. I was in the bit with pot plants and I was choosing one for MIL anniv. I was blocking the whole ailse. People were lookin at me oddly, I thought coz I was in the way but when I tried to move I disvovered that Stuart was attached to a hose pipe. I shouted at him to let go, I couldnt get past to get him off it, So I just moved hoping it would pull out of his hands. But, to my embarrassment, he held on and knocked over a pot. Soil and leaves etc everywhere! He giggled and smiled innocently. I ended saying well how am I suposed to choose a plant when there is barely enough space to get past 2 people never mind this thing, it the buggy. They said that I shouldnt have one in here if I cant handle it and I got real mad saying something impolite like, if he wanted to push the buggy round this b****** of a place wheile I shop feel free. He just sort of looked and said he'd help me to the paypoint!
The joys of buggies xx

When my son was a baby - had to take him to the Doctor's due to his asthma. I was so preoccupied with him and my anxiety, that I left the b***dy buggy there - at the surgery - and to cap it all - on the Friday of a BH weekend I REALLY missed my buggy!! Meant to add..couldn't even remember where it was for a couple of days & it was only when we rang the surgery on the Tuesday morn., that we knew for sure where it was

LOL! - double buggies sound a nightmare and if I ever see anyone with one while I am out I will let them past first any time! Think we will have LO walking well before we have another one so I only have to use a single buggy. I thought those long ways ones were supposed to be better than the widthways ones - d'you reckon they actually test them in shops?! Do agree with you though Hopeful - would be lost without it cos LO is getting rather heavy and wriggly these days! Having a stress about tomorrow cos going to the vets on my own with dog and baby. Now when LO was in her baby car seat it used to attach to the wheels of the buggy but now she is in a proper car seat I have to transfer her from the car to the main buggy which then attaches to the wheels (all a bit of a faff for ten mins in the vets) so am gonna brave carrying her and controlling him on the lead - wish me luck!!

I can't believe you can't take the buggy in the doc's. How crap is that. When I was in the doc's the other day Jamie pooed. I asked if there was anywhere I could change him but the recetionist looked around and there weren't any rooms free. I had to change him in the boot of the car! You'd think they would have a changing station in the DISABLED loo!! Sorry...nothing against disabled people but do think that mothers get over looked sometimes.

LOL! Our docs has a disabled with a changing table in it - what one has the other doesn't!! Unbelievable they don't cater for mums at the docs!
I had to put LO in the boot of our car yesterday while I got dog in and out of his travelling crate. Amazing how much mess is in our boot that I hadn't realised until she started picking it all up and trying to eat it!
Didn't attempt the buggy and carried LO and got pulled along by the dag - was hard work but we got there....

a bit off the subject but talking about places not having the appropriate facilities..... I went to Mothercare the other day and in the car park they have about 10 disabled car parking spaces but only 1 mother and toddler one? I kind of think they have missed the point there a bit!!

Ha ha - yeah ours is the same, it is on a retail park and has all the disabled spaces right outside mothercare and the mother and baby ones (all two of them) up the other end of the retail park Am going there later in fact so will probably be back on here tonight!! xx

Was ok - managed to get a parking space next to an empty space so had lots of room today.
Went in a certain cheap clothes shop and bought a ton of casual/days at home stuff for LO for about fifteen quid which was great but they had stuff all over the floor fallen off the shelves, so I delighted in running it all over!! ;D Cheered me up anyway!

Yeah I understand that one. It annoys me when you go in supermarkets when you go tp the till and pay it is really narrow between the two tills and they put stackes of sweets and shit there for you LO's to pull off the shelf while you are unloading the trolly. Short of binding theirhands to gether or putting them in a straight jacket there is no way of stopping them doing this. I used to battle to stop them but now I let them crakc on. The shop staff shouldn't be so dumb as to do this so if they wreck the display or nick any sweets it's not my fault!!
