I have heard that too - but its hard to know for sure. i was on depo for a while and than came off it. I was depressed on it- but still had problems on it. Not sure if it made me worse. I think with the depo I was more flat and depressed! But now off it i am more up and down.
But thats only a personal opinion.
I am going to move this thread to a place it may get more answers. too.
Mybe some else will have the answers.

I think things like that can affect people in different ways and that is probably due the the hormones that are in it. If you feel that it may possibly be making you feel worse try having a chat with you GP about the alternatives there are lots out there now. You can have implants which are placed into your arm, there are two different types of coil one with hormones and one without, various pills and then there are the more permant solutions depending where you are in your life and how many children you have and stuf you may want to think about being sterillised or sending your partner for the "snip".
Hope this helps in some way.

Ive chatted with my doctor, and she said it was a good point. She would look into it. I think it may be making me worse. Trouble is ive just had a one, and its lasts till september. I dont think they can do anything to reverse it either!! I think the coils a good option without the hormones! I dont need anymore of that!. Dowt he'd get the snip. Thanks for the replys guys erin x

i just like to say that because of the hormones in it i think it can make depression worse. My doctor put me on the pill when my pni was getting better was on it for two weeks and all the pni came back really bad so i think these things can defo make things worse.
