Hello My wee one is 19 months now and has not slept through the night for the past 3 weeks..mummy is tired, daddy is grumpy, mummy is grumpy..you get the picture!! It's not like her to not sleep, usually its 12.5 hrs solid! She's had a throat infection which was disturbing her and she does have a bit of a lingering cough which I think disturbs her sometimes too but I wonder if she's maybe needing to come out of her cot? It's a cotbed so it's a bit bigger but she travels A LOT in her sleep, we often hear noises as she travels around the cot and her arms and legs bump the sides..we still have a bumper on for this very reason! Is it time for a bed? Would I put one of those guard things on it? Will she fall out a bed when on one of her night time adventures? Will mummy and daddy ever sleep again?? xxx

My eldest was in a bed by 20 months cos she was waking up in her cot by banging into the sides. The bed guard seemed to do the trick and she was much better for having the extra space.
The little one has also been in a bed from that age for the same reasons

Hi Caterina, Hope your LO's throat infection is better and that you all are getting some sleep again. I think if she's not a wanderer, then a bed should be fine, especially since you have another on the way, it would be nice to get her sorted into a big bed just in time for your new baby to take over the cot.. Perhaps you can get one with a raised side to start off with... Look at this one I saw or this one awwwwww, right girly this one is ;D and this pinky one, ooo decisions decisions I want a bed like that

Chloe went into her bed about a month ago so she was just over 2 and she sleeps much better now. It's lovely to see her sleeping in a proper bed. MArion.

peanut is in a junior bed and he is 15 months old. He has a guard on his bed but can get in and out himself if he wants to. As long as the room they are in is safe if they do get out unheard then you will be fine. All of mine are out of their cot before they are 18 months as I tend to have climbers !!!! I have found Peanut sleeps better in his bed than a cot as he doesnt bash himself on the sides too. Liz x

Wee one has had her 2nd night in her grown up bed..oh she's so adorable in it! Hubby took her to help him convert it from cotbed to bed and she got so excited! She still travels but she hasn't travelled onto the floor! Got one of those guard things and have a stair gate on her door just in case she gets up! But so far, so good! I want the pink bed but have been forbidden so close to Christmas Ah well...Jan sales! xx
