Hi Marion
How are you? are you home from hospital now? How do you feel on these new drugs?
It is awful for you if it has taken so long to get to the 'right' diagnosis. However I have heard this before and our patron was only diagnosed after many months or more of being treated for PNI.
It is not helpful as the medication that works with PP is said to be different from what works with PNI.
but you are on anti-psychotics now so things should improve let us know as we are thinking of you
I hope you respond well to this new medication?
Love veritee

Thanks Veritiee Am still in hospitla but am aloud home on day leave. Have expanded more in my diary.
Quetiapine has certainly helped my symptoms although it leaves me with a spacey feel whichi I hope will go.

Dear Gillian and Marion
You are both an inspiration. I did not have PP, but can only imagine what you've been through, but glad things are better. I know wiht PNI it's rarely an overnight recovery and can take time to get better, but you will get there.
Here for you
Monica

An update to this thread. After they originall said I had it the dr's then just went on referring to me as having depression and anxiety which lead me to believe that I didnt have it afterall (despite the seeing things and weird behaviour etc). However, when I was discharged from hospital after 20 months on monday they put my diagnoses as puerpural psychosis and severe depressive episode.
I am through this terrible illness now (except for the anxiety) and it has totally destroyed my life. My husband and my daughter have kept the house and we are now getting divorced. I still love my husband and would love to go home and live with them both but he doenst love me anymore. He said I did one overdose too many and hit just destroyed the love (have done about 25). I have gone from owning a lovely 3 bedroomed home as part of a family to living on my own in a bedsit. The only thing I still have is my job which my company has kept open for me. Hopefully I start back to work in the next couple of weeks.
I know I sound like I'm feeling sorry for myself but I guess I just needed a moan. Why did this have to happen to me I ask but I guess I'm just one of the unlucky few.
Please dont read this and think that you will lose your family too. I have just been very ill and have had a husband who just couldnt take the pressure. I was so unpredictable in y behaviour (self harmig and overdosing all the time) he was just so scared that this would have some impact on Chloe.
I am now slowly and with a lot of support rebuildig my life. I have had great support on this site and than you all from the bottom of my heart for that support.
By the way - I am no longer on quetiapine as the spcainess did not go. I take duloxetine, aropriprazole and prmozine now. Love Marion.
