Well as you can see I am back. I am arranging a night at the dogs on 19th July 2008. This is at the Greyhound Stadium in Portsmouth. Basically we get given 1000 tickets to either give or possibly sell to people in the area and those people will buy food, bet on the races etc which is where the stadium gets there money from to cover our event. There are 12 races on the night and each one can have a name, business, charity, in fact anything you like named to each race eg The PNI race. In return for people getting their names against a race they make donations to PNI Org UK I am just at the start of this but if anyone fancies coming to Portsmouth on the night then give me a shout. Pete and I are going to get in touch with local businesses etc to get them to have a race named after them in return for pennies More details to follow as I get back into the swing of it again. Liz x

Brilliant Well I am thinking that if we sold tickets for £1 each then if we sold all of the would be £1000 to PNI !!!!! Hoping to get a raffle and maybe even a bucket collection on the night so if you fancy helping then volunteers always welcome Liz x

It hasnt happened yet lol, its 19th July. Am waiting for tickets to arrive as they usually do them a few weeks before the event. Am looking to contact local surgeries and Surestart to see if they will buy some tickets. Am hoping to get some local companies donate some things for a raffle so cross fingers for me. Liz x

I love a night at the dogs and live opposite a racecourse and dog track. You have inspired me to see if I can do the same here, my colleagues may not be much into supporting PNI (all ex lorry drivers who just dont get women full stop) but I know they all like a night at the dogs!
Hope it goes well Liz, let us know if you need us to help with anything xx

Hi Liz Thank you so much for doing this - I do hope it goes well.I was rung and asked for a logo to put on the publicity for the event and at first I could not figure out who it was! Sorry but it was in your husbands name I think and I really do not take in/take note of, anyone's proper names , especially not surnames - as it is a personal rule of mine only to refer to people - and know them only by - the names they choose to be known on the forum, unless they become trustees/voluntary staff of the charity So at first I did nto know who it was - sorry But it is all sorted now and I sent them a logoI hope it is suitable? And you have it OK for the publicity? Veritee XX

Hiya Yes the logo looks brilliant. They did get one from u what was wrong with it. Pete changed his number and looks like they had tried to call him. I received the first one today and am just about to grab the rest from my son who picked them up and has literally just come through the door. Am hoping to sell as many as I can as this could make a nice donation. I am also looking for some businesses who would like their names printed on the programmes in exchange for a donation. They suggest £35 minimum donation but I would love to get more if we can. After mummydonnas bit towards PNI Awareness I would love to get more down south. Every little bit helps. Am going to get some posters printed up and get them around. Will scan a ticket in later as using new laptop and it isnt linked up yet. Anyone down south who can help by selling tickets or helping on the night will be very much appreciated. Liz x

I might be able to see if I can get anyone from our southern offices to join in. We have a Basingstoke office and a Bournemouth office which aren't a million miles away so will put it to them x

That would be brilliant. Am going to get going with trying to get people interested today. I need 12 businesses and lots of people who want to go lol. I am going to put it up on Facebook and really start to advertise it as much as I can. Am hoping to try and do a small pack to send to drs surgeries with some info and stuff in it so they can understand a bit more about the charity and maybe even support us in the future. Would also like to do a bucket collection on the night so lets hope I can get some volunteers Liz x
