Hi
I am currently 8 and a half weeks pregnant, and from about 6 weeks i have felt really really low. I keep crying all of the time and just ant seem to snap out of it. I have a 22 month old son whome i had had pnd with but took meds to get better. This feeling of depression and anxiety has just come on all of a sudden, i think mainly through worrying that i am going to get pnd again and have to deal with it with 2 children.
I am praying that this has come on due to hormones and with subside in my 2nd trimester.
Has anyone got any advice for me im desperate....
Thanks
Josie xxx

HI Josie
It does sound very hormonal but if you are at all worried go to your dr. Explain that you had pni before and you are worried it is coming back. They will be able to monitor you throughout your pregnancy.
Love Marion.

Hi Marion I went to my docs, I have been twice and he said it sounds hormonal, and gave me some vitamins. He said that meds are not a good idea in pregnancy as they are not aware of the long term affects on the baby. I just want to know have any other women had it and did it sudside after the 1st trimester. I feel very down and the moment and any advice atall is appreciated. Thanks

Josie,
Welcome to the forum hun.
Some of the ladies who have had PNI symptoms during pregnancy reported that they were worse in the first trimester when the egg is implanting and during the last trimester. Have a look at some of the posts on this thread, as I think some of these ladies may/have been in a similar situation.
Keep talking hun and we will be here to support you in any way we can.
Love and hugs

HI Josie
How you doing sweetie??
I remember when I was pregnant I felt terrible - all hormonal and all over the place to start off with but it did subside. Try not to let it worry you and enjoy your pregnancy. It's a wonderful time.
Love Marion.

Hi Josie, I am 11 weeks pregnant and also have a daughter 4 and a son 3, I suffered badly with pni with my son, and i am still on meds for it. It had realy settled down to the point I thought i dodnt need meds anymore. When i first found out i was pregnant at about 4 weeks, my pni came back very strongly and my meds had to be incresed again. I also was worried that it would all come back. I am now settleing down again. I believe it is hormonal, and also the shock and worry that it will hhappen again, increases the anxiety. Keep in touch with your doctor so she can keep an eye on you, but you will find it should settle down chin up erin x

Hi Josie I am currently 6 wks preg with #2 and I've also felt that the anxiety part of the illness has come back to an extent. I think it's hormonal though and a natural part of pregnancy to become anxious about your existing and unborn children. I remember being the same when preg 1st time round and I had never experienced PNI then. Like you I worry about PNI with 2 kids..especially as hubby is now contemplating taking an offshore job but the way I'm trying to look at is, I beat it once, I can again and this time I would know what's wrong. Plus those around me would see the signs and help would be much quicker in coming!
Keep an eye on yourself, if it's not lifting then go along to your GP, I'm sure there are treatments that are safe in pregnancy. Take care xxx

Hi everyone thanks for your kind words and advice
I have felt a liitle better, im now about 10 weeks. I am still suffering with anxiety, it seems to be when i know im going to be going somewere or doing something i get very anxious, then leads me to be upset. I have been taking vitamin poroxadine prescribed by the doctor who said i should settle down soon, i just hope it happens soon, its making me not enjoy my pregnancy, and i so want to.
Again thanks for the advice
