i am convinced i have a hormone imbalance after searching internet on my symptoms, and wondered if there was anyone else that had been diagnosed and what they were given to remedy it, i have found some sites that say the pill but i have been on about three that have never changed my symptoms etc am pregnant now but will be going to docs after birth etc also i have endometriosis would this affect my hormones? my basic symptoms are excess body hair (especially bikini line grows a good three inches out all the way round and has done since i went through puberty and when i wax it its fine but the minute i get pregnant it grow back like wild fire and is dark and thick but when im not pregnant and wax it doesnt grow so badly) docs have ruled out pcos no libido at all mood swings during periods that are excessive and are better on the pill there are others but these are the main ones xxxx

Hi Zoe
Welcome back x
I can identify with all of the symptoms except the excess hair one. The libido one is wierd as opposed to just being off sex I am actually repulsed by it!
I actually have PCOS so know my hormones are mad anyway, but certain that birth/pni has played a part in making things worse.
Might do some research into it..

I was diagnosed with a hormone imbalance at about 14 yrs old. I went through puberty at 8 and everything went wrong from there. By the time I was 14 I had been through all sorts of tests, including blood tests and a very embarrassing ultra sound (in maternity with my Mum and wearing my school uniform). They eventually said it was some sort of horome imbalance and I was put on the pill which helped slightly but not much so they gave me norathisterone as well which is a hormone that stoppes your periods if you take it solid or makes them less painful and lighter if you break for a bleed.
The problem with hormone imbalances is knowing which hormones are unbalanced. It is worth bringing it up with the doc though.

Hi Zoe, (and everyone else)
I can't really offer you any advice as such except to say that i too believe that i have a hormone imbalance. I have been keeping a diary on another forum - for pmt - and there is a definite pattern going on there.
I will be keeping an eye on this thread to see if anyone else has any advice/tips.
Sorry this is not much help Zoe but please keep talking.
Sarah.xxx
