Welcome to the forum.

It took me almost 2 years to be fully well again, and at times life was hell for my husband. During my first year, as much as I tried I felt I would never be well again, and it wasn't until after that period of time really that I started to recover well.

Please try not to be judgemental, I know it's hard. Your wife will make a full recovery, but it takes time. I found that I recovered more when I resumed normal everyday activities, shopping, visiting friends. Encourage her to get her independence back in any way you can, take her out and about. Is she enrolled in a gym? excercise can help enormously, she needs to build up her confidence again as it's a rock bottom at the moment.

Sorry the counselling isn't going well, I myself had some counselling sessions at the beginning and they didn't make any difference either, depends on the counsellor as well.

She wants to hear that you love her and will be there for her no matter how long it takes, that you will support her and will always be a shoulder to cry on when she needs to. You will get your wife back in time, just be patient
