Hi everyone, looking for some advice re colic.
My new baby 3wks is suffering very badly from what i think is colic. The usual colicky signs but it seems to be very prolonged not just a few hrs in the evening. He crys thro the night too and this morning the cried off and on all morning.
Been using infacol, yes it brings up the wind and hes worse when he doesnt have it but it also doesnt seem to 'cure' it. Tried gripe water, not any diff to be honest. Also just started camomillia granules which take time to build up as such.
Any other suggestions? PLEASE lol

Hi there,
You beat me to it Caz, I am a great believer in Colief!!!!!!!!!
It changed my little boy, who used to scream morning noon and night, into a different little boy. It was just coming out onto the market back then, and my health visitor very quietly said to me, I shouldnt reccomend this as it is not proven etc etc., I remember having to order it in especially at a local chemist, but I know it is now widely available.
The only draw back with it, is, I was using formula milk for my twins and it has to sit in the milk for 4 hours plus, although is okay up to 12 hours, so I used to make a whole batch at one time. It can also be used with breast milk, but not quite sure how, as I was not breast feeding by that time. It was quite expensive back then, it was around £10 for every tiny bottle, but it lasts a good while as you only use 4 drops a bottle. It certainly was my godsend, but obviously what works with one child may not necessarily work for another, it also does take a few days to build into the system, but it did not take long before I saw results.
Mummy's instincts are pretty hot, especially after 3, but it may also be worth having him checked over by the GP or midwife/health visitor if things do not improve.
Sending you big hugs and very strong pacing the floor legs.
Love Chica xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi
Thanks very much guys. I had heard of that colief drops but was under the impression it was to go in a bottle, and I'm breast feeding. But if like you say chia it can be used I will have a look into it. I did even at one stage consider putting him on a bottle but I know i would regret that, i have breast fed all my boys and the 1st i stopped due to terrible reflux and regretted it sorely. Also to be honest i dont have time for the whole sterilising and bottle routine, knowing me I'd go without it when I go out lol. I'm so used to having it attached!
But I'll def have a look into that stuff, £10 a bottle for a nights sleep sounds a good deal!!

Not sure if happens everywhere , but I managed to get mine on prescription so also saved a fortune as is expensive and only lasts up to a week . Hope this helps !x

Hi
how ar eyou getting on? Has the colic settled? I also used colief and it seemd to help. With my baby, cranial massage was amazing - not cheap at £35 a go but a couple of sessions and he changed into this calm baby from a colic and wind filled one.
