my self harm poem

Wrote a poen when I wanted to self harm and this actually stopped me cutting - its not brilliant but I am proud of it:

Frustration, upset, hurt and pain
Anger and guilt, hatred and shame
Too many memories, too much pain
I just want it all to go away
I wish I could cope and not turn to harm
To not get upset and stay nice and calm
To end all the cutting that would be a dream
Giving up isn’t as easy as what people think
To lose all the scars – oh what that would mean
No more staring when my arms have been seen
I want my son back so I have to fight
This mess that I’m in needs putting right
I want the day to come when I can finally say
I no longer self harm and I live every day

Wow! what a truly amazing heartfelt poem. The amount of feeling that's gone into it is heart-rending. Well done x

My best friend's teenage daughter is now SH and my friend is really struggling to understand it. If it's ok with you, I'd like to pass your poem on to her (and her daughter) to give her more insight.

thanks for comments - yes it is ok for you to pass it onto your friend Andrea. I dont know if you read the letter to SH (thread underneath) as that would be good for her to read as it says siuch a lot about how hard it is to fight it.
