Hi all I know this has nothing to do with PNI but i thought that some of you ladies might be able to help. I have searing pain in my thighs and pubic area and find it difficult to part my legs, climb stairs and roll over in bed without this agonising pain. I've been reading up on the internet and it seems that i may have a condition called SPD. I just wanted to know if anyone else had a history of this and any advise on what i should do. I'm in a lot of pain most of the day and this is starting to get me down but i can't bear the fact it might get worse. I can already only stand for about an hour and walking around i have to get a seat every 10-15 mins Heres hoping someone has got some advise. Again i apologise that this is not PNI related

Hi Sazzythorn
Certainly sounds like, it I have not had it but lots of people I know have. It can be very painful. I suggest you call your midwife today. It responds well to physiotherapy but you need to get it asap. Let us know how it goes

Hi Sazzythom,
I had this with 2 of my 3 pregnancies and yes it is very painful! Kat is right it does respond well to physio so get in touch with your midwife asap. They can also give you a support belt which you wear under your 'bump' its meant to help take some of the weight/pressure off your pelvis/pubic region and i found that works well too. I was also on painkillers most of the time too but my case was pretty severe so it maybe that the pyhsio and the belt work for you.
Let us know how you get on and if you need any more advice just give us a shout.xxx

Hello,
I had it with my second but I don't think I had too bad. You are quite early on in your pregnancy though so you wouldn't have too much pressure on your pelvis yet although I am not a professional and could be completely talking out of my backside! It could be something like a trapped nerve....when I am due on I get pain in my legs and with my second pregnancy I got a lot of nerve pain brought on by anything...as the others say get straight on to your midwife as it sounds really painful. Physio or Osteopathy would be good.
Hope you get some relief soon x
