I quickly got back to my pre-pregnancy weight after my baby was born but when PNI set in, over 6 months gained 2 stone through comfort eating! Now I am on Mirtazipine my appetite has rocketed and I have gained a further stone. Help!! Anyone got any fabulous diet plans? Anyone had this problem with Mirtazipine?

you are so not the only one Kittykatt, I put on a stone on the drugs, a stone in the first trimester and dont dare look at the moment. However, have done it successfully three times before, the first time, a few years ago, I put a lot and I mean a lot of weight on when I had a car accident and broke my sacroiliac joint - lost 5 stone and 13 pounds, second time - did it through my last pregnancy and was a stone lighter after the pregnancy than before two weeks after delivery. Third time I used it as an excuse to hide my not eating from the world with my PNI. But it was slimming world, it does really work, because you can eat as much as you want and so allows comfort eating. Not sexy, not exciting, but healthy, works and for us girls with PNI will help us keep our glucose levels stable important to stop those downs. here is the website - www.slimmingworld.com/ - I do recommend the classes as the sort of group therapy thing does work. If you need anymore advice or would like someone to do it with you, let me know. Kat

Thanks so much Kat you're a star. I've added that link to my favourites to have a read tomorrow. A nurse I know recommended Slimming world for the same reason - eating as much as you want but I didn't look into it. 5 stone 13 pounds is amazing!!!! I'm incredibly impressed. I know I've been totally mistreating my body and stuffing my face with anything. I've never been this heavy in my life really need to properly try to do something about it!!!!

Whatever anti depressant etc you are on you will always gain weight.. its pants but fact. I think there is only one of the old trcyclics that doesnt cause weight gain (forget which one) but noone really prescribes it anymore..
Now its interesting what you say about slimming world, because i tried them and my head fell off my shoulder with it all. I jacked in after a week when i had to weigh the cheese to put on my jacket potatoe.. is it just me being thick as im desperate to lose a couple fo stone and dont know where to start!
